hey guys, i got a 4g prelude si and need to change the lower ball joint cause it making a clunking sound everytime i go through a bump. my friend tells me that i have to buy the whole knuckle assembly, is that right? or do they sell it seperately? also, where is a good place to buy from? Thanks

I tried to buy the lower joint here in Europe and even direct Honda doesn't sell it separately, only the whole knuckle. After few tryings I found that the lower ball joint from Legend fits in 4G Lude perfectly! And it is sold separately! I've bought one from the Sidem company.

you can press it out! call auto zone, any auto parts store! get the ball joint! go to honda the will press it out an press it in! -nick

 

As I told before, maybe in the USA you can buy it separately. Here in Europe not. If you buy an aftermarket one, it doesn't fit, because it's all for 3G and all think that it is the same as in 4G. I have emailet with an aftermarket ball joints manufacturer really a lot and we found out, that Honda Legend has exactly the same lower ball joint as Prelude 4G. And the Legend joint can be bought separately (aftermarket) for little money and fits. At least here in Europe.
