Default Hytech/Hitech

First off.. will some clarify the name with me... i have talked with John a few times in the past.. but I dont know if the company is called "Hitech" or "Hytech", because I have seen people type it both ways.

Also.. does anyone know what his header - exhaust package is costing these days (header/highflow-cat/exhaust OR header/testpipe/exhaust).

Also.. does anyone know if he released his V-AFC settings for the setup?

Thank you,
Jon

Initially it was Hitech....but i think someone inc'd it even though he had the business far before this other company. This forced John to change the name on paper to Hytech. Use either...everyone knows who your talking about.

No clue on pricing...gotta call john on that one since he's the only one making them and the only distributor. need one? he builds it

There is no universal setting for any system anywhere. Gotta dyno tune. every single car ...even with the exact same mods will most likely give you a tick of a different reading.

Speaking of HiTech, where are all of the dyno results showing the 20 hp gains? If I am not mistaken, that was the anticipated gains with the header. Do you know what is up Lip? Just curious as I am on the waiting list for the complete exhaust system, and would like to see some results with the header.

when i talked to john about the header and exhaust, he said that the dyno results were on the way, but he sent me a bunch 'ol pics.

i knwo these might be old, but this s what john sent. he said that the header would be $1300, but he might have changed the price so you should contact him directly. he is very good about email responses!!!!!

he also said that the header was CARB approved, so for those of you that live in kali...its a good benefit. i plan on getting this header just cos it is carb approved and it should be pretty good......i hope.

Mine should be shipped to me today, or tomorrow...can't wait.
John's business card says HyTech Exhaust, whereas his e-mail is hitechex@...
The price is $1300, there is a chance that the future headers will have a lower price...right now with the high electrical prices in California it raises his associated cost.
I'll have a dyno plot within minutes of installing the header...should be within 1 week

Hello guys,
As for the name change it is now HyTech. Lip is correct that some other company had copywritted the style that I used in the HiTech name, so we had to change it.
The headers are under construction now. Austin will have his tomorrow. We will have another Type R on the dyno at the end of this week. We have been very busy with the Formula Car exhausts which has put us way behind with the Import headers. We will try to get our Type R done for the Expo. The cat back will take about 8 weeks to get the end stampings for the mufflers, it takes that long to get them made. Once we have the pieces we can start assembling them. The carb issue has been a nightmare our Civic had a bad cat which has caused about a 6 week delay in getting them approved. The car will go back to the lab next week. Hopfully it will pass this time. I'll keep you informed when we have any results.

Are you serious? 20hp w/ just a header? And, it's carb approved? Wow.

Question for John @ HyTech... if I were to buy a complete exhaust system, is it tested before it ships out? And, is it a bolt-on affair only if I buy the whole exhaust H/Cat/E system? Thanks.

I guess I was looking for a baseline run of an ITR and then a run with just the addition of the header...

Both would be nice, but I was initially thinking stock or with some light bolt-ons.

Thanks Lip

just trying to figure out what owner of a stock itr pays 1300 for a race header with no or minor mods looking for 20hp increases.

I think this is to see the validity of the 20HP claim...that is assuming that this number was obtained from a stock itr.

With CARB approval...trying to stay in a particular class of racing...or trying to CARB legal in CA, your only other options are DC and Comptech.

Hehe... well, you have to start somewhere, right? Usually people start with bolt-ons like a Mugen or Spoon header that are ~ $1000, so what is an extra $300 for well over twice the power? And, if your plans are to do cams and other internals, wouldn't it make more sense to do the header first since to take full advantage of the cams, you need a header with this potential.

And as stated, I would like to see the validity of the claim
