H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
I have a stock block and head h22a4 with 120k miles
This is in a prelude chassis
Setup is
Euro R manifold
68mm TB
3' CAI
Bisimoto Header
3' Exhaust
Previously was running Stock Header with shitty ebay 2.5 exhaust.
The dyno runs were not back to back neither, about six months apart

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
so you changed out to a bisi header and a new exhaust?
Bisimoto Header
3' Exhaust
Previously was running Stock Header with shitty ebay 2.5 exhaust.
i would have liked to see just the header change to see what the header itself actually did. im guessing most of the 13.8whp gained was the change from the crap ebay exhaust to the 3"
either way only 13.8whp/10ft lbs tq on the top was not much of an improvement for what it cost to do the header/exhaust

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
Who tuned it? Seems like theres something up with barely reaching 180whp with a EuroR mani. Every STOCK h22 I've tuned does at least 180.
Here's another H22 bisi header dyno.
The setup is
stock H22a w/jdm header
Euro-R intake manifold (Port matched to TB)
74-68mm tapered TB
Acura RDX injectors
EBAY 2.75" SRI
Only change between the two curves was the header. Owner believes a few more ponies can be extracted with further dyno tuning.

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
well this dyno is known to be a little rougher in terms of numbers
Someone putting down 220 from another dyno came here and put down 205.

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
The point is comparison between parts, not dyno to dyno. However, the OP said they were not back to back (so I'm guessing not same day) and the plot is uncorrected, so it doesn't tell a very reliable story. IF the plot is accurate, though, a 14whp gain doesn't seem too shabby to me for a header, especially since there are solid gains everywhere in the graph.

The Header wanted it leaner then the stock header and picked up power everywhere. The header did better then I thought it would. It was a nice upgrade for martin and he liked the upgrade. He just needs cams. The SAE was same gain just lower numbers.

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
header was 850 + 150 ceramic coating
Also, Header was designed for
Accord H23vtec on pro 1 cams.

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
Could say I would have expected more from that header. But like the OP mentioned it was designed for a h23 with pro1's. whether its worth its price is up in the air. wish i could see more bisimoto H-series dyno'd

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
Well done OP, as you are your gains are appealing. On our inhouse stock H22, we saw an 18whp gain over DC, with no other mods but the header:

Your setup is great, as many will support you, and a few will speak ill, for their own personal reasons. Bare in mind that I got into header design because my Hytech made 3whp over DC after I invested $1600!
Happy holidays, everyone!

thats funny because years ago my Hytech tri y made just over 18whp over a stock jdm h22 header back to back on a dynojet and that was a tri y not even designed for peak numbers. i paid 1150. for it in full 304 stainless, NOT the 1600. you say you paid for yours.
here it is 10 years later and your just now producing a header which makes the same 18whp over stock as my Hytech did 10 years ago lol. and if yours is a 4to1 than its really sad because your about 10whp behind my own custom header and i have only been making headers for a couple years lol.
btw, is the header in the del sol chassis on the dyno exactly the same as what you sell for prelude or accord?

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
You probably could have seen these gains alone, just going to a 3'' exhaust..
the stock / DC headers are all completely garbage.. makes me wonder alittle bit. Considering the weather has changed alot in parts, i'd have to say having colder weather will have to do with adding to the numbers
Dyno 's are just that, tuning tools, they aren't the end all be all of numbers. You can't compare dyno's unless they are back to back, on the same condition of the runs and same variables.. its dumb because its also like 10-20 degrees cooler..there's alot that goes into comparing actually dyno numbers. This is just a vague gain - a "true" comparsion would also include 1/4 ET's and Traps..
I suggest you put your stock header / ebay exhaust back on and go spend a night @ the track running your car, swap it out for the 3'' and bisi and do the same and let us know the results.. See if your money was really well spent.

Re: H22 BISIMOTO header tuned
I mean the gains dont seem to figure out.
14whp
5ftq
For a bigger exhaust and better header?.. A exhaust probably would have equalled this outcome and maybe a better tune, cause it does seem like there is some more left.
You gained more low end and top end, your mid range is pratically the same..Nobody's really downing the gains, good gains, however your comparsion is null.
Good header none the less, and what 3'' exhaust did you end up going with?
