Is it safe to turbo my LS w/ a JDM ITR tranny??????
Ok I have a 94 integra ls w/ 73K miles on it. I installed a 97 JDM ITR tranny w/ LSD and 4.4 Final Drive. When cruising on the freeway at about 80 mph I am at 4.5K RPM's would this be a problem with turbo being that high in the revs constantly. I am thinking of running a t3/t4e. I also have a fidanza 7.5lb flywheel. Information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
B-Razz, drop your tranny out put in your LS 5th gear then turbo it once i get some cash im gonna get the same tranny but prob put my 4th and 5th LS gears in then run like 6-8 PSI cause thats some safe numbers if its tuned properly i wont blow myself seeya in spanish kiddo
I have a B20 with a 96spec 4.40 tranny too. If I turbo'ed my car, it would keep the same tranny. Bottom end and spinning wheels owns.
no, the turbo only builds boost at/close to wot. cruising at 80mph im at about 10in/hg vacuum. I'm not sure if i'd keep that 7.5lb fw though
Ya I have doen soem research with the flywheel and I think im just going to sell it and get a 9lb cromo one. So with the tranny I shuld be pretty good. Some people say it will be more benefical to me b/c I will always stay in boost since when I shift I only drop down to about 4900Rpm's or so. Is this true. Would I be better with a t3 turbo or a t3/t4 on my teg.

7.5 to 9lbs isn't much of a differece. i'd swap it for an itr (13-14lbs) or just keep the one you have.
you drop to 4900rpm with an itr tranny?
that would be out of vtec, that cant be right. either you were sold a non-type r tranny or you are wrong. you will still lose boost if you let off the gas pedal (tb closes and manifold vacuum opens the bov). if youre fast enought you can powershift and not lose but i wouldnt recommend it. a better alternative is hondata/ems's full throttle shift feature
any tranny (ls/gsr/itr/si) will bring you down on to an rpm where the turbo can quickly fully spool for the next gear. t3 will feel better on the street, t3/t4 will be faster.

i was thinking of a higher than 6800 redline. shorther ratios would still land the next gear at a higher rpm.
