Default What I dont understand about Oil on my plugs?

Ive been researching a little about symptoms and solutions
to having little oil on the sparkplugs...
about 90% of the replys all say "change the o-rings"...
now that would be a great cheap solution but one thing I dont understand
is alot of people say that oil is found on the THREADS of the plugs,
if the plugs are tightened to spec, then wouldnt it be difficult for the oil
from the Valve cover to seep through onto the threads?
this would make me believe that its the piston rings, blowby, or valve seal/guides.

in my situation, i found a tad bit of oil on my 3rd cylinder plug.... i have 3 possible reasons why.
1. Last oil change I may have overfilled, on the dipstick the oil was a hair above the top indicator (hole).
2. VC o-rings?
3. blowby/valve seal/guides.

im hoping its the first 2 reasons....in any case... is it possible for oil to seep into the plugs Threads from the VC o-rings?

Do a compresson test. Check if you're getting blow-by...
