Default 3.5 hrs into my rear disk swap

started last night at 730 worked till 12...

got the rear trailing arms fully in... just gottatsetup the e-brake cables and finish installing the master/booster and prop. valve....

wish me luck...

so far it's been REALLY easy save the booster bolts (laying on your back under your dash for 30+ mins. is FUN FUN FUN).

wish me luck.

Personally, I hated installing/removing the e-brake cables the most. Did anyone else find those little brackets to be a bitch to get back on?

Yeah, I did mine on my own a little while ago, I didn't do the whole thing at once because I had a difficult time landing an Integra master cylinder and 4040 PV. I had difficulty with the flare nuts on the brake lines, and being able to turn my wrench on all of them. I guess that's what happens with an 11 yr old VX.

I didn't have a hard time w/ the ebarke cables really on mine, just taking off the exhaust and heat sheilds to route them.

Laying on your back doing the MC sucked a little, the cotter pin is sometimes hard to access-- not to mention my heater core broke this past winter so my back was covered in coolant.

I also had problems squeezing the Integra brake booster past my GS-R intake manifold and the vacuum valve for the dual runner intake manifold-- somehow I finally squeezed it in.

hey how much does a project like this cost? ive contemplated about swapping front and rear disk conversion on my hb for a while, but never actually did it yet.

and is the stopping power noticeable?

Update...

the master/booster and prop valve went in ALMOST hassle free... the prop. valve is mounted to a bracket and the one I had and the one already on there were different... so at first we were going to swap the brackets... thakfully we were at my buddy's shop so he had the "safety torx" bits and when I realized that they were spring loaded I figured it'd be better to fab up a bracket to mount the 40/40 to the stock location... that actually went super easy... he had a piece of band metal that just needed to be drilled and painted...

everything went on and bled ok.... till the pedal kept travelling to the ground....

so I need a new master... gunna order that tomorrow and hopefully put it in as well.

other than that it was great... drove it for a while (the master is only leaking internaly and slowly.) the stopping power was GREAT...

as far as cost.

375 for all the parts from a junkyard
150 for powerstop crossdrilled rotors
35 for honda pads
+ soon to be 70 or so for a rebuilt master

They looked small as soon as I put them on though... I already want to do the accord wagon disk/caliper swap but I don't think I'll be doing that for a long time.

when it's all done I'll post some pics... hands were to dirty to go near my camera during though.

I swapped 95 integra rear disk and rear sway bar onto mine. It included everything I needed for 100 bucks. I did not swap anything out under the hood though. Why did I not have to do that? I have no issues with locking up or anything like that.

HAHAHAHAHAHA....

this was my thread... Actually it's funny because the front pads I changed when I did the rears JUST went... I have to do the fronts again...

Timing really sucks because I'm a week or 2 away from being able to do the prelude front brakes...

Anyway I wish I partied/knew chicks like that but unfortunately I don't... I'm married and boring...

P.S. Can I have the blonde AND the brunettes number?

Well you don't "have" to swap the master/booster... you just get better braking with a bigger master...

You wouldn't have problems locking up the brakes.. you have to use more foot effort/travel to accomplish the same amount as you would with less effort on a bigger master...

I used 93 integra trailing arms and I think it's come back to bite me in the ***...

I tried to do some research about the older teg's trailing arms and any differences... I heard that a couple bushings were different but nothing major...

The LCA shock mount bushing IS larger on the 90-93 teg, I've been told that the RTA bushing itself is larger as well.. I'm not sure on this yet as I've been putting off doing my mugen bushings... now I'll measure the one's on there first before I try to put in the mugen's... if they're bigger I'll just get stockers as mugen doesn't make RTA bushings for 90-93tegs.
