yes you can, BUT..that LS tranny is going to rob the C5 of alot of power..you should eventually invest in a JDM type R tranny to match your engine..the JDM version has a nice and high final drive ratio.
Yeah it will work, but that tranny has some pretty bad ratios. You can also convert to hydro, but then you'd need all the parts from a DC2 to make it happen, such as the pedal assembly, master/slave cylinders, and all that other crap mounted on the firewall. You might want to consider some other options.. such as a b17 (92-93 gsr cable tranny), or a b16 cable tranny. The JDM DA Integras that came with b16s also have a nice cable tranny. Good Luck
Yea, i would just go ahead and get a b16 cable transmission. Dont mess with the hydrolic convertion unless you know what yoru doing and have alot of time and money. Anyway the b16 and type R transmissions are similar gearing.
A USDM 92-93 GSR tranny is the same as the USDM ITR tranny minus the LSD and the fact that its a cable. Try and find yourself on of those, but good luck.

Yes, the b18c5 with some sort of cable, b-series tranny will work the best and I dont know what the second part of your question means.

I would go with the ys 1 tranny like stated above exact same ratios without the LSD

92-93 gsr tranny is going to be really hard to find , the mostly go for 400-600 if you can find one , b16 trannys go for 250-450 (550-700 w lsd ) either one will be good the 92-93 gsr tranny would be the most idea , but the b16 trannys work good also just dont use your b18a tranny for all motor

differences:
-gearing
-one is cable, one is hydro
-one has lsd, the other only some have lsd
Oh, and there's no such thing as a "b16a1" you'll want a 1st generation b16a tranny, or a b16a tranny from a 92-93 integra xsi (this is a ys1 and has the same gearing as the usdm 92-93 gsr ys1, but it comes w/ optional lsd), although these are VERY hard to find.
as for b16b...no, it doesn't come w/ a cable tranny. Honda changed from using a cable tranny to using a hydro tranny in 1992, except for the integra which was still mid-generation, so they kept the cable configuration till the G3 came out.
Basically follow what the others said, you want a b series VTEC cable tranny. They came on 1st gen jdm b16a's, 92-93 gsr's, and 2nd gen jdm b16a's from 92-93 integra xsi's. The tranny codes will be y1, s1, j1, or ys1. But be careful because some of those come in both vtec and nonvtec gear configurations....and you can't tell which it is just by looking at the case.
oh, and for more info about the swap go to http://www.g2ic.com and go to the "Teg Tips" section. download the Engine Swap Guide and read it over a few times....it has ALL the info you need to do your swap. g2ic has been down for a good part of this evening, so if for some reason the page doesn't load just try again later.
