My breaks lost pressure. Help me before I crash and kill myself!
Hey, I my brakes lost pressure. I have to pump them whenever I try to stop. They have been gradually loosing pressure and now it's pretty much like I barely have any breaks.... I forgot the name of the part I need.. Is it the brake valve? A small cylinder looking thing that goes somewhere underneath the break pedel? I forgot exactly what the part is called. I have a 1985 Honda Accord LX carb... Can someone help me.
Most likely your master cylinder. Not hard to change. Another possibility (and I mention this cuz I had this happen on my first car while cruising @ 75mph, lol), is a brake hose might have burst. Being an 85, that's not at all out of the question. In my case the hoses didn't burst completely to lose all the fluid, but the outer layer of rubber was so dry that both hoses just cracked a ring around them, and when I went to hit the brakes they would just swell up instead of applying pressure, and the pedal went to the floor. After a few pumps they worked though. But more than likely it's the master cylinder
Yeah, most likely master cylinder. These have a tendency to go out at the worst time... when mine went I was driving down a main road with lots of traffic, suddenly, no brake pressure...ARG! E-brake time! :D
thanx .. I just checked my brake fluid and it was all out - considering I haven't checked it in a very long time. I filled it back up but it didn't solve the problem...
Where is the master brake cylinder located? what does it look like?

Before you jump to any conclusions you should bleed your break lines. If that doesn't help then yeah, its your master cylinder, but the fact that you had no fluid.. hmm, maybe a leak in your brake lines? Fill up your master cylinder and get your friend to jam on the pedal and see if you can see any leaks on the floor.
If its the master cylinder then it's in the engine bay, it should be the thing with the resovoir on top of it and be practically right next to the drivers sit strut mount. Now keep in mind theres a resevoir that is more towards the firewall and is like twice as small, thats not it, its the other one. It should be connected to a metal looking thinggie. If you go buy a new master cylinder youll see exactly what you need to change. I think this install is a PITA, but what do I know?
Good luck. By the way, don't buy any lame aftermarket master cylinders, get OEM one.

Yeah, the metal "Thinggie" I describe is called a power booster or brake booster, or something like that. You'll see it. :b
And was this install a bitch to anyone else besides me? I hate having to bleed that biatch.

You may have a leak somewhere. It may be a good idea to take a look.
