Default master cylinder problem...

a couple of weeks ago i went to my machanic b/c my brake pedal was really spongy. He told me that i needed a master cylinder, so i left and changed it my self, along with rotors and a set of calipers. That idiot, told me i needed a new master, i dont htink i did. so anyway after i bled the sysytem thoroughly my pedal was stiff and the car was stopping good. after about a week i noticed i started struggling to stop. As i apply more pressure to the pedal the pedal goes alot deeper and deeper to the floor..and now after the 3rd week, the pedal feels like **** again. I htink they sold me a bad master cylinder. It may not be holding the compression well. I might put back my old one becuase i KNOW it is still good. And I know theres no air in the system.
there are times when i drive, i feel the pressure in the line better than other times.

Does this sound familiar to anyone..I appriciate the help you can give me and what you think i should do **93 civic 125 k** Thanks

Does anyone have any ideas or can help me out with this

is it getting consistenly spongey or like stiff in the morning and then youdrive it for a while and they get spongey?

b/c if its AFTER you have been driving a little bit the rubber hoses will expand and will make the pedal spongey.

also, you may want to get some new lines as another solution some stainless steel lines if possible. $120 for the lines and then you will KNOW what it is. If the lines cure it...done....If not then its most likely the booster

yes thasts it. The pedal is stiff when you 1st start driving, then after a while the pedal really sinks down
