Default Stock Exhaust ?

Well i really got on my car for awhile today becuase i was in miami all day. I dont really run on it at home because of ****** cops and tickets. Anyway my tach reallly takes some time to get to VTEC in 3rd and 4th gear but the stock GSR exhausts are they really restrictive? ALl i have performance wise is synthetic oil and comptech intake> Ive been wanting ahytech exhaust but John and his company is taking for ever Im just thinking about getting a comptech one and calling it a day and getting a hytech header in the future. Whats the difference in 2.25 diameter and 2.5 performance in exhaust? ANd in the future i plan on doing my head aggressive cams the whole 9 yards. Suggestions please

comptech . i wouldnt consider synthetic oil a performance mod. hytech header is expensive and it has a 2.5" collector. if your serious on gettin that then you should get 2.5" piping the whole way back. same thing if u got a header with 2.25 collector you would wanna keep the header back all the same diameter.

ok ..... but is 2.25 vs 2.5 will that do a dramatic difference with anything? speed acceleration or is it just top speed?

IMO, for a daily driven car, you're not going to notice the difference in 2.25" and 2.5".

The one that is taking forever is custom. Before you buy the comptech make sure that you can cancel the order for the other one. often if its custom you are still obligated to pay the manufacturer even if you decide you dont want it.

I personally wouldn't buy from Hytech as John's immature attuitude and mudslinging approach disgust me.

For a 2.5" exhaust I would go with either SMSP or Kteller8's setup. I would also get an SMSP header to match it.

If you really can't wait, buy a Comptech, they are good quality and have very good sound to go with it.

how about a stock Type R cat-back?? isnt that 2.25 and it would be hella cheaper but if you got the extra cash get the custom mandrel-bent exhaust from KTeller8

I would buy smsp's exhaust but he uses a magna flow muffler and when he posted pics of the exhaust on ht.com it looked corny. No tip and its not stainless steel. Correct me if im wrong on that

It is 100% stainless steel. From tip to tip including the flanges. It's not polished though. You can get him to put whatever tip you want on there. Alot of people get the stock ITR tip put on, so it looks stock.
