Default Toda Header users

I'm planning to upgrade my jdm 4-1 header to the toda header. My compression is around ~11.6:01 and i've got toda B cams. Would this be a worthy upgrade enough to justify the 900-1000 dollar price tag? Also, would it be imperative that i get my car retuned? Or can i drive around a bit untuned until i get a few more things on my car before i tune again?

I have it on my car. Worth it. I am selling though.

I figure for that price, you might as well spend the extra couple hundred and get a hytech or smsp header.

I do have a Hytech header too. It's sitting in my garage.

How long is the wait for a hytech header? Also, i need something that can bolt up to my apexi n1 cat-back w/carsound cat. I'm not looking to buy a complete hytech exhaust system (header, cat, cat-back). I was looking into the comptech race header, but its a little longer and would require me to remove my cat. How much is the hytech header anyway?

But besides that, i am trying to ask for input from people that have the toda header. Opinions/reviews are welcome. thanks

I bet for a custom header, it will take at least 3-4 month (maybe I don't really know). That is why I went with the Toda Header, and I love it. I don't have the cams or the compression you do, but I definitely think it will be better than the jdm 4-1. Tuning? I think you will be fine without tuning for now, but I would recommend that you do if you decide to get a better header.

imho, the toda header is among the best off the shelf headers you can buy.

For the $, it's a great piece and able to support 200whp comfortably.

It actually had more low end power than my hytech header too!

Black R: Thats sweet, Do you have any dyno plots of toda vs hytech? How did the top end compare to the hytech header?

ketone: yeah i will get tuning, but that toda header will eat my wallet pretty fast.

Toda is a greta header but in my opinion the best header is the SMSP. Why?? the dyno talks, also is a little different from the pack. If you have money to buy a TODA go SMSP.

P.D. I just installed the SMSP test pipe and my car is so great is even a different car. Dave thanks for all your help. Now i have a real R.
