i think i blew my motor up!!!PLEASE READ
ok here's the story...
i was having problems with my dist.so i called up my friend yesterday to try his,i put his on my car and the car ran perfect.he told me he had a sohc vtec dist at his house and if that one worked that i could have it,but for some reason right when i bolted that up and cranked it over it made this loud *** knocking noise but it seemed like it was coming from the dist...so i got scared and turned the car off almost immediately after tuning it on...i figured it was the dist and tried the other one that worked earlier and it did the same thing...the weird thing is that it run really good and then i parked it and outta nowhere it just did it after like sitting close to an hour,it never made the noise while i was driving....is it possible that i really messed up something just by bolting on a different dist,i dont know how it would be possible,i had water and oil in it....please help!!!!

you had that in the engine or the distributor????????????
you had that in the engine or the distributor????????????
So:
1) You thought you had a distributor problem.
2) You took the distributor out of your friend's car and it worked fine.
3) He wanted his distributor back, but was willing to give you a spare.
4) You put the spare in and the car started, but there was a loud knocking noise.
5) So, you took it out and put the other one back in and it was knocking now too.
6) Your question is: did you screw something up when you swapped all these around?
Do I have it right?

That's what I'm thinking. Stuck the plug wires in the wrong holes --- cracked the cap or something...
