we just completed an auto to manual conversion in a 90 civic DX.

problems we're having:

1. key won't come out of the ignition. what would cause this? we stick the key in, and we can't get it to the off position to remove the key.

2. starter won't turn over. we believe this is a result of the clutch release safely swith. does anyone have a wire diagram for that switch? i looked in the helms manuals i have for the CRX and i don't see it listed anywhere

please help guys!

 

i dont know the exact cause of the key in the ignition but on most autos it wont let you take the key out unless the car is in nuetral or park.

as for the clutch safety switch if your car was originally auto i dont think it should have one. For autos you have to step on the brake pedal to start it so try that.

ok, key is out of the ignition. we had to re-set the ECU, and then pressing on the brake released it

we know autos don't come with the clutch safety switch. that's why we need the wiring diagram
