Default Help! Engine flooded with gas...

Hey, I just recently finished my swap and I was driving it around today and everything seemed fine. When I rolled up to my driveway coming home, the car started sputtering and white smoke started coming out of the exhaust, I waited til the car cooled down and assumed it was fouled plugs causing it to misfire but the plugs were okay. I checked for spark and it was getting spark. The plugs has a gas smell to them and then when I put the plugs back in and started the car, it would either not start or start and then shut off. When the car did start, it was spraying gasoline out of the exhaust. I tried starting it up again and a whole puddle of gas came out of the exhaust. What would cause that to happen? Could the regulator be bad? Cuz it seems like the exhaust is flooded with gasonline and everytime I crank the motor it spits gas out.

is this a recent swap....and black smoke is fuel, white is coolant, blue is oil......just check the wires and vacuum lines that are associated with the map and intake manifold or whatever.....good place to start.....do you have a vafc and which ecu are you running

I don't have a V-AFC and I'm using the P13 ecu. All the vacuum lines look good, all fluids are there......just can't figure out why it's spitting out gas.

I'm guessing you got a motor than included a stuck injector. Just clean them out and you should be fine.

Yeah, actually one of the injectors was bad. Already replaced the bad injector and everything was running fine until today. If the injectors were clogged, how do I go about cleaning them and why would my exhaust be flooded with gasonline? Ack...

How do you know it's flooded with gas? Gas produces dark black smoke..

My guess is it is a gasket problem.

I know it's gas because gas only produces black smoke when the gas is being burned. In this case, straight gasoline is coming out of the exhaust. It's literally spraying unburned gas out of the exhaust.

I'm still wondering why a clogged injector would cause the motor to be flooded with gas though. Wouldn't it be leaning out instead?

If a piece of dirt is wedged in between the pintle and the seat, it will stay open. Take your injectors out and clean them. I would also change your fuel filter and purge the fuel line. It sounds like you may have gotten some junk in the fuel line...

If one cylinder is so rich that it won't even fire, the O2 sensor reads all that 'unused' oxygen. The ECM thinks its lean so it calls for more fuel.

Remember that the O2 sensor doesn't measure mixture. It measures Oxygen.

Anyone have anymore ideas? Everytime I start the motor, it spits a puddle of gasoline out and the after runs for a while, it'll spray gas out of the tailpipe and will start to smoke pretty badly. The gas like drips out of the exhaust also has a white film to it. The motor shouldn't be flooded with gas anymore cuz I did the trick where you pull the plugs out and crank the motor and no gas sprays out at all. The car also idles normal and engine temp. stays normal, it just smokes and spews gas out.....
