Default Weird starting problem

Ok I will explain the story a little, I had to run to some stores, and I started my car up a total of 4 times with in the hour. The last store I went to was pepboys. So I come out and try to start my car and nothing happens. All the lights come on and everything else works ok but the car won't even attempt to crank over. So I sit there for about 20 minutes hoping the car would cool down or something and then try to start it up, well I did and it was doing the same thing. So I call my mom up there with the jumper cables and I try to jump my car. It fires right up no problems. I go home, let it sit in the garage, try to start it up, it fires up no problems. The alternator, starter, and battery are not even 4 months old. So I'm thinking either my ignition switch just wanted to play a little game with me or my starter did, but I am leaning more towards the switch. What do you guys think ? What should I do, do I continue to drive like this and hope it don't do that again, or should I just replace the ignition switch. And how much does one usually cost and are they that hard to install ? My neighbor said if it ever happen again, to try to take a screw driver and switch the ignition switch over and see if that works. And one more thing, if it was the ignition switch, how come it worked when I jumped the car ? Does it open up when to many volts are applied to it ? So what do you guys think ?

hard to say.. ide deffenelty lean torwards ign. switch, or even your main replay.. im not sure if you would get dash lights wiht a bad main realay, but i know you woudln't get fuel.

now, when my ign switch went out.. its sorta a funny story, i was driving.. my SOHC when i had AC.. lol, and alittle smoke came from in the colum/lower dash area.. i just thought the AC was really kicking ***.. turned the AC off.. smoke went away.. cruzied it in.. and treid to fire it up.. ntohing.. the ingnition was done.. no cranky, no lights.. nothing. so i played wiht it.. the way those switches are designed, is like a plug for the back of the tumbler.. sorta like the ***** on your BBQ.. you turn to ACC. it goes 1 notch.. on is 2 notches.. start is, 3.. then back to 2 notches.. well.. for me.. the 3rd notch, and that contact.. burned up.. it was touching #2 all the time.. so if i wanted it to run... lol, i had to crack it over.. then, hope, i was quick enough, to sit it on the hump between 1 and 2.. gay huh? but that last for a whole day, i wasn't going to deal with that.

OEM honda.. list, joe shmoe price was like 60 bucks.. really easy to put in.. all execpt the fact you have to look under you dash.. 2 really small bolts.. like 5 MM, and i think 3 plug and pay plugs.. thats it.

maybe someone else here could explain symtoms of a main relay.. i know when its hot outside.. they dont' do jack ****, and your stranded.. but im not real sure.. however.. i do have 2 plus mine in stock

I had the same prob with my 91 Std hatch w/D15B...I'd say it's your ignitor, coil or main relay from the description you give...I installed a new ignitor, coil, and main relay and that solved it.

Well I did a few test to see what it could be, I tested to see if I was getting power to the fuel pump, which I wasn't. So I took the main relay out and did a test on that, and I was not getting any volts from it. So I resodered it and I'm gonna see what happens.
