The redline for a si is 6800, not 7500.

shift when? racing? or just normal everyday driving? about 7600 when racing usually. and 3000-3500 everyday driving or whenever i feel like it.

um, redline is actually 7400 for a 5th gen 5 speed fuel cutoff is even beyond 7600. is redlining and hitting the fuel cutoff the same thing???

i shift at around 3k. do you guys use 5th gear on the streets or do you reserve it for the highway? i havent decided which is more efficient. i assume 5th on the streets would improve fuel economy though.

I shift at about 3k on the streets and I definately use 5th gear. I get over 400 miles to a tank so I think it works pretty well.

i put it in 5th on the strizeets, usually at like 45mph, figured that would mean your engine's not working as hard and you'd get better gas mileage, never actually tried it, kinda hard to get good gas mileage with my heavy foot

i **** at about 2.5k for best fuel mileage...
i put it in 5th at 40 mph... or a little more... 42...
i dont think its too much stress on the engine...
of course i can never resist running it up to 8k every once in a while...mmmmmmmm... vtec...

Redline on a 97+ lude is 7600 rpms. Fuel cutoff is somewhere a little over 8000 i believe. Redline is not the same thing as the fuel cutoff. Redline is where the redline starts on the tach which is 7600 rpms. The rev limiter and fuel cutoff is at the same rpm.

a couple quick questions to add to this.

b. what is the fuel cut on an h22a4(if they are the same , thats cool too )
c.bolt on lude, what color/model lude do you drive? where at in op do you live? whats your name?
