What the hell?
i purchased a dohc zc from HMO a few days ago i got it and i put it in and wired everything..and when i tryed to start it up for the first time...the motor would only turn over 3/4 of one rotation...so i thought it would be a tranny problem because i was using my old 4spd trans ...so i pulled the motor back out and i found out that the trans is fine..the motor still only will turn over 3/4 of one rotation..im thinking that a valve broke and fell on top of the piston and thats whats causing it to do what its doing. what should i do?? i could pull the head and find out for sure if its a broken valve that fell on top of the piston. im not sure what else i could do ...if i wanted a new motor from HMO i would have to pay for shipping to ship it back ..correct? i dont know what to do ..please help
Great... sounds like a seized motor. Did you mess with the timing belt or anything like that before you installed the engine? (The trans has nothing to do with this) I would call them up and make them pay for shipping on another motor.
the battery output is fine...but that has nothing to do with this..i turned the crank pulley with a long ratchet manually and plus the starter wouldnt even turn it over with the battery on a charger and it will still only turn 3/4 of one rotation..something is definetly binding up..but im still not sure what it is.

that sucks bro- you're making me worry- i just got my ZC on Wednesday & I haven't touched it yet- it's set to be installed on Sunday- it looks clean- I pray that yours is fine & mine as well
Call Steve up and tell him what the deal is. I bought a B16 swap from him, which had very low compression #'s, and he worked with me.
He sent another B16 longblock, and I sent him the original one back to him. Also he paid for everything. The only thing I had to pay was for the extra labor from the shop for dropping the bad engine, and putting up the new one again.

OK..i found out what the problem was...i bent a rod when my dad sprayed ether into the intake while i was trying to starts my car and that is why i can only get 3/4 of one rotation because the rod is hitting the side of the block...now i need to know what kind of internals should i get to fit my dohc zc?
if someone could help me ..with a list of internals or a website i could use on my dohc zc (mainly what rods do i need)that would be cool.
