Default i have a alpine deck and i think i have a short somewhere

i have a 1990 honda civic dx hatchback. i have an alpine deck and the other day i was driving down the road and all of a sudden my deck kept turning on and off i think i have a short somewhere but i am not a elecrticonic person but if you guys could help me out by telling me what might cause this problem you sure would save me alot of time and money and energy please help me if you can!!!

It sounds more like you have a loose connection. Check the ground wire and power wire. Follow the wires from the connector and check that they are not loose. If they go to a splice check both sides of splice. Follow the ground and make sure it is tight and connected to metal.Check power wire at fuse holder and make sure it is secure. Also make sure the connector is properly connected to the rear of your unit.
