EF Si rear drums self adjusting
just did my back brakes.. peddle is pretty soft right now. goes down quite a bit before they bite hard... will these work them selves in or do i have to take the drums off and re-adjust them ????
yeah something like that.. but i can never get them to really do it... or at least its not nice and tight like i like it
so i just end up doing it manually every now and then

Yeah definately do it by hand going into reverse to adjust them rarely if ever works. Make sure you have them adjusted good and the going into reverse thing works a bit just to keep them adjusted. But for the initial adjustment do it by hand.
on my friend's eg, there was a rubber grommet on the back side of the drum (the metal plate). you stick a screwdriver in there and you have access to adjust the drum further. after i adjusted the drum, i put the wheel on and made sure the wheel would only make about 1 full rotation, then stop. his brakes worked MUCH better after that.
i have been meaning to do the same on my car, but i have about 1000 other things i need to do first.

Is it easy to adjust them ? I never did it...but i want to...I can swap a B series motor in a 5th gen body but i never really touched drums...blame discs brake !

Yes it is easy to adjust them. I hate drum brakes too but that was the first set of brakes I worked on as a kid, damn that 71 Nova my Dad used to have! lol

i back up in reverse and press the brakes really hard sometimes this works, or i just pull up the Ebrake, usually gets a little tighter after i do that
I think they are supposed to adjust when you pull the parking brake.
Take a look at your brake fluid. If it's low then DON'T top it off! When it's low it means your pads/shoes are worn and you need new ones. Maybe stuff has worn out and that's the problem.

well i just put a rear disc from a crx si and i bleed the brakes and then when i put my foot on the brake sometimes it tight or sometimes i had to keep pushing down and it feels soft. do u think my Mc is bad or ? i mean the brake does top the car pretty good i just wondering why does the pedal feels tight then it will feel like the pedal will hit to the floor?

what's that got to do with this post?

Sounds like you probably have air bubbles in your lines. Could be the MC as well, but I would figure you would have a more contstant problem rather than intermitant as you seemed to have explained.
