Yeah I got my Summitt Sport Compact catalog and saw that price I thought maybe it was a misprint, maybe $900 for the pair? I saw for the longest time they had the Turbo XS DSBC boost controller for $39.95, I thought about calling and asking to honor it

I have been doing testing for TCI over the past year. I can get a decent orice on them. Somewhere around 300hp-$499 500hp-$799 maybe even less depending on intrest. The pricing is per pair.

I'm told the 500hp set uses stock outer splines and doesn't require new hubs. Is that true?

The 500hp and 500+ use new hubs.

I'm using the TCI 500hp axles (blue). I have around 7000 miles on them. I have the Quaife LSD and am running roughly 360whp/250wtq. The outer CV joints on both sides are breaking inside the socket. Most of the time, when I turn in a parking lot, they pop. And sometimes when I get on it, I can feel the breakage like a chunky slip; same feeling I had when the stock axles ripped out. I wonder if I should have splurged on the 500+hp axles or if I should have tried a different brand.

sounds like you have axle length problems, or possibly mount issues. be more descriptive about your setup. is it always the same side that breaks?

I have a set of the 500+ also. The first set might have had a defect; the inner joint on the left side shattered on the first launch with 22x8x15 slicks at 13psi. The parts took out the alternator housing, broke the intermediate shaft bearing/mount, tore up some wiring, and put a small hole in the firewall/fender area.

In TCI's defense, they were very good at replacing the set for me even though the warranty clause states there isn't a warranty at all. The replacement set has survived so far; including multiple 7-10psi launches with 23x8.5 slicks at 12psi.

Here's a picture of what you get in the box, and a picture of the broken stuff. BTW, the diameter of the axle spline is larger than that of a CRV axle - just in case you break one, a CRV axle won't exactly work in a pinch. Although, it will help if you are creative
