Default BlueTop DSM 450's... Got a few questions! (detailed pics!)

Ok, got my 450's today.. I got a pretty good deal on 6 but obviously only need 4. Previous owner said they had been cleaned/flowtested/balanced etc, but he lost the papers.

1.) What do the engraved numbers mean? They're each numbered 210231, 210232, 210233, etc.

2.) What can be done about the 2 injectors pictured, one with broken cap, and one missing a cap?

3.) It doesn't look like I need the whole seal kit. Do I need the whole thing (as shown here), or just the bottom green rings?

Now for the pictures:
Injectors

Picture of the engraved numbers.. kinda hard to see.

Broken (sort of) injectors:

the numbers are how they keep tracking of them when being cleaned/flow tested. they do a lot of them at a time. since you have 6 use the 4 that are ok. the caps are there just in case they are dropped to help prevent damage to the needle/pintile. go ahead and get the full seal kit. it will come with the rail cushions, rail seal, and manifold seal. you'll need to get 4...they come with 4 seals in each box that will do one injector each...you won't use the stock black seal that comes in the kit, but you'll use the other 3.

Cool. Just looked up the kit and it's only $8.49 anyway.

Exactly the reason why I just used my old seals and bored them out with a dremel.

36 is better than using a possibly questionable seal or damaging it when taking it off the top of the injector inlet and risking leaking and fire.

the stock black seals will leave the injector sitting too low in the manifold and may not give a good spray pattern.

to me the 36 bucks is no big deal for peace of mind.

I agree. I bought the new seal kits when I installed my 450's. I dremeled out and I'm very happy with the results. Spend the $36, you'll be glad you did.

Ack! I thought the $8 was for all 4 injectors... wow. $8 for a few lil pieces of rubber.

Oh well, I'm sure I'll end up spending it to keep piece of mind.

Those numbers look like they might be from Cuzin Performance. You might be able to contact them to verify they were cleaned.

Talked w/ a reputable guy who cleans injectors. Said the black caps will not affect the injector at all. Anly for protecting the pintel.
