Default Mugen Pedals

Anyone with Mugen Pedals on your ITR...quick question- how did you attach the accelorator? Did you use the brackets or did you just screw it in? I was trying to interpret the instructions that are in jap and the only thing that I got out of it was that there are 3 ways and I'm not sure which is best for me. Thanks.

Also- there is only one size right?

You have to pop off the plastic pedal cover that is on the accelerator. Then you should be able to attach the Mugen pedal with the two brackets provided. I don't remember exactly which method on the instruction booklet you need to follow, but I know the gas pedal in each picture is different. Just go off the picture that matches the stock Type R gas pedal - there is only one that is the same.

I hate that accelerator cover. I ended up peeling it off in pieces using some needle nose pliers.

Yes you have...it's what you put your foot on every time you pressed the gas before you installed the Razo's... The stock gas pedal actually has a hard to remove cover on it.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but the last thing I want when I'm stepping on my pedals is for one of the "universal" fit pedal covers to slip off and cause problems. The Mugen's were made specifically for the Type R (and other like-sized Honda pedals), and the fit is incredibly good in comparison to all other aftermarket pedals I've seen. Always better safe than sorry...

Don't think so...they are a one-size-fits-all application.

Not true Bob, There are 2 versions of the RAZO, one is shorter than the other and does not fit the Integra Gas pedal completely.

You should check mine out and see for yourself that it will never "slip" off!

I already knew about that because of the old posts...but I figured someone would bring it up . I bet the one that completely fits the Integra gas pedal still doesn't fit as good as the Mugen... I know that YOURS won't ever slip off, but I can't say that most people will spend as much time and put as much care into their car mods as you, so my comment was directed at them!!

I already checked out your pedals, and I like them! Just not as much as I like my "nickel-chrome blown metal non-slip surface" .

Get a pair of leather gloves and you can pry the top retaining tab off the gas pedal and then pull the plastic cover down. mine came off without a problem.

speaking of Mugen pedals, I have a used set from my old ITR that I have for sale if anyone is interested. make me a reasonable offer.

Very Interesting, I put my Mugen pedals on over a year ago and did not remove a cover for the accelerator pedal? I guess they work fine even if you don't do that?

I've had my Razo pedals on for OVER 3 years. They've endured 3 winters and 3.5 summers without EVER falling off, shifting, slipping etc.

You're not being a jerk, you're just being wrong!

Yep.. but just know.. you're carrying around an extra useless 1/2 ounce on your pedal.

Doesn't that bug you?

The best way ive found to take the gas pedal cover off is to heat it up with a heat gun (not hair dryer) for 5-10sec on highest setting. Then itll be flexible enough to pull right off. Use a glove or rag or youll toast your hand. You should be able to re-use it. I then self-tapped the pedal in and used the bracket.
