Default Stock eg hatch spoiler

Just wanted to know how to take off the stock spoiler? Is it screwed on? are the screws covered with metal plates? I'm pretty sure you know what i'm talking about. can anyone post a diagram of the procedure? thanks

Ok I know the spolier is bolted on to the window, but how do I remove the metal plate that covers those bolts? Would it be easier to take the whole window off as well?

you shouldn't have to remove any plate or anything. Just open the hatch window, and look up. You'll see 4 black cap nuts on the hinge bracket right under where the spoiler now is. Undo those, unplug the 3rd brake light harness, and youre done. Hope this helps.

OK so they're called cap nuts Anyway they're flat as well right? And there are four of them *******, but how do you take them off if there is no place to put a phillips or allen wrench? Confusing...maybe we're not on the same page, I'll post pics later...thank anyway. 1NE

WoW! Use a 10mm socket. They are black nuts with a round top on them. Thats
why they call it a cap nut. Dont over tighten them on the re-instal.
