NEED HELP! CRX bodywork questions.
ok.. to summarize it..
my 88 CRX got into a headon collision in february, puncturing the radiator and damaging the hood, bumper and fender. I'm picking up a parts 91 CRX DX monday to fix it. what needs to be replaced from the 91 DX to my 88 DX is
-radiator
-hood
-driver side headlight
-front bumper cover and bumper support (do the 91 corners have to go with the 91 bumper or can i keep the 88 corners?)
possibly the doors if there's ANY way of making them interchange.
what i'd like to know is: degree of difficulty? how long timewise? what tools do I need OR.. is anyone up to coming up to rochester to lend a hand... there's beer, food and fun (and maybe cash) in it for anyone who voluteers?
thanks alot for reading..

I have an idea... Go to maacos say you want a free estimate, they will look over your car and tell you exactly what you need to replace, ask for the paper they print out.. Go home and then you have a list of every part you'll need...
good luck with the work, I guess you'll probably need the basics like screw drivers, rachets everything probably just bolts or screws in... Was there any structural damage? I think thats the thing you have to worry about the most. Since one car is a 91 i think the only difference is the corner lights and fenders... the doors shouldnt matter...

88-89 corners fit 88-89 fenders
90-91 corners fit 90-901 fenders
they both look slightly different
the headlights are also different 88-89 and 90-91

ok then... what it's down to is...
will the 91 bumper fit on the 88 without any problems? that's probably the only thing i'm going to change out.. that and the hood which is universal.
thanks for the help.
mike
ps- anyone in nh interested in lending a hand?

ok this is from a guy who had front end damage and fixed it himself. The headlights will interchange but if you use 89-89 head lights you will have to use the 88-89 corners and vise versa. The bumpers and fenders and hood interchange. Doors will interchange but your seat belts will be different. Tools you will need is sockets and wrenches. I think most of the bolts require a 10mm socket. You will need a welder to put in the new core support and a grinder to get the old one out. If you want your body panels and headlamps to line up inevst in a new core support. they are only like $90 bux. To take the doors off you will want a buddy to help car it off. but a jack and 12mm sockets and a hammer to pull the pin off. A impact driver to adjust the door to realign to the new one on helps. Good luck man. Take your time and be patient and it will be straight
