Default Coilovers w/adjustable lower perch

Aside from Zeal b6/s6, buddy club racing spec, and Tein RA/RE, are there any other coilover options for the ITR that have the adjustable lower perch option where you retain full suspension travel?

Thanks!

What else are you looking for? Don't like those options? Those are the only ones that come to mind for me. FYI RA's don't have this feature just RE's I believe.

I am looking for something more entry level in terms of adjustment and also price tag. I do not want to mess around with pre-load. I would like a set up where I could change the ride height by adjusting the shock body instead of compressing the suspension travel. This eliminates most entry level coilovers. Basic dampening adjustment would be nice also. I do not want 30-way adjustable or anything like that. Basically a quality coilover setup with good spring rates that have shock body height adjustability. From what I have read on the forums and in literature, coilovers that maintain full suspension travel have more compliance and better response over undulations. And I will never forget the ride I had at expo in a Zeal b6 equipped ITR, smooth over bumps, tenacious on corners. Any suggestions, or am I out of options...

edit: I would normally go for zeal b6's as I had planned, but current pricing places them right under $2000. I'm hoping there is something with less features and a smaller price tag.

JIC very well may. They seem to be well thought of by my WRX Freinds.

B6's don't have 30 adjustments. Any coilover that has independent stroke height adjustment will have a preload spring perch. Zeal's and I suspect the other copanies ship the suspension preset so you have no need to adjust preload or even height, unless you feel the need.

I will say as much as I liked my TEIN's the fit and finish of the Zeals is better. If you can handle a stiff ride get the race springs. IF you can't handle it, get the race springs and trade me your 12's for my 6's and run the same rates TEIN HA's come with (This is assuming you get B6's). BTW I though t you ordered B6's already.

Thanks for the info, very helpful. So I guess by default if I want adjustable shock body, I will have adjustable preload. $$$$$$

I've only ordered wheels so far, still deciding on tires, suspension.

Thanks again for the help!

Columbus Ohio??? yah that was probably you! I can attribute you to making me want new suspension. As much I like stock, and even though I can hardly outdrive it, your car is ten times more fun than mine! and I was just a passenger lol....talk about throwing the car in to corners with no body roll.

I will investigate the JIC's and see if they are more cost efficient....

I run race valved FLT-A2's.

Here are my coilovers. The fork is removeable. They come with both the fork and the eyelet, so you can run them on non-ITR rear LCA's.

Hey Warren, those look awesome. Would you mind explaning to me how that second red perch below the pillowball mount works? Is it supposed to be similar to the helper spring like on the Tein's?

The word on the street for JIC magic's is $1475 from a few differnet places with custom rates. Standard is 10/7. I might be getting these.

That is the preload thing we have been discussing. One holds the spring in place and adjustes the load on the spring while the lower ring allows the shock to thread into the lower portion of the shock body without effecting stroke.

You use the bottom perch to adjust the height at that corner. The two locking collars are used to adjust preload on the spring, which imo, are set and forget if you use the proper spring rate.

Trey, I understand that.. I was just a little confused because the way my N1's work is that the spring sits flush against the pillowball mount instead of having that intermediary perch there. I adjust my preload by the two locking collars and that's it, similar to what Warren is describing.

Warren, still wondering about the red perch right below the pillowmount though.. does that thing have a spherical bearing in it?
