LS cams?????
crower 403's were great for me. Good top end, you have to raise your redline to 8+k to really feel them though.
To really feel the cams you have to get some ITR pistons and fully built head like I had, then you can have some fun runnin the LS to 8500rpm
Really flys up there with the right kinda work.

i have an ECU to rev to 8,5 so no problem there. did you have any problems with your idle? did the cams make any power at the low to mid range area? and is it possible to hit that redline with the stock valve springs or just go ahead and put the dual springs in while im in there.

Don't rev a stock LS to anything over 7500. And I wouldn't even do that often.
I'd only rev to 8000 rpm with a decent valvetrain (springs at least) and some ARP rod bolts.
Then you SHOULD be pretty safe. I still don't think I would make it an every occurence though.

ITR pistons with an LS head WILL work. I dont' know where you are getting your info from.
If you are using stock LS rods they will have to be machined. Other than that there is no reason why they wouldn't work.
I have CTR pistons for my LS block.
