Default zex kit on a b18b1

my block is stock and i wouldn't mind using a zex kit with the 55-65 shot on my motor. i should be fine right as long as i don't go higher than a 65 shot?

i have the regular i/h/e and a couple of other mods. i don't race that much, just every once in awhile and i woudn't mind having a little back up in case i need it. so zex should do the trick. i usually only drive my car on the weekends and sometimes i need a little extra power when i have some peeps start messing with me.

also, should i go wet or dry kit?

Wet is better.

Why Zex? That stuff is crap.

Use NX or NOS (Holley). Much better quality selenoids and over all prodcut.

Also, I belive the ZEX kit is Vacuum/throttle based. Which is kinda gay.

The LS motor will hold a 65-75 shot just fine. If you intend to use it on the street. I suggest you look into a remote bottle opener, bottle warmer, and purge.

Also, a ignition controller that allows you to retard the timing from inside the car would be awesome.

If you seriously get into it and start spraying at the track. Look into a Nitrous Master mind controller.

why do people say zex is crap? i mean its great for conservative nitrous users. i actually like the WOT activation no bottons to hit, just floor it. you'll be fine with the 65 shot, i used the 55 cause i'm chicken. i'm selling a kit if you havent already bought one, its dry.

acutally i'm looking for one, but i've heard the wet kits are better as well. anyway, how much are you looking for your and do you have the purge kit with it? a friend of mine is spraying a 75 shot on his stock ls and he's doing fine.

Why is wet better? Zex solinoild flow up to 200hp worth, i gues those aren't good enough . Been using my kit for 2 years with same solinoids so I guess they are reliable .

Zex really is the easiest kit to use for low shot applications (55-65). I personally wouldnt shoot dry to 75 shot...If you want to go that high id look more toward a wet kit.

please dont speak without proper knowledge. Not trying to be an a$$ but this is how inaccurate information gets around. The ZEX system is acticated based on an electric current signal. This signal is sent from the TPS or throttle position sensor located at the TB. The TPS sensor has 3 wires, ground, base signal and feedback signal. The feedback signal is tapped. The Voltage sent from the TPS when the TB is at WOT or wide open throttle , and only at WOT, is what triggers the ZEX system. At any other throttle position the voltage from the signal wire isn't as high.

I hope this clearifys anyconfusion in anyones mind as to the safety or actication of this system.

Some other systems however are mechanically acivated VIA an direct contact switch. Anything mechanical by its nature will often times fail before its electrical equivalant would, however, we can argue probability all night and still come to no conclusions.

Hope this clearified any confusion as to the activation of the ZEX system.

you can do the same exact with the ZEX it's really preference but since you asked about ZEX and not NX

got with ZEX got with their wet kit and go 75. just get their colder plugs

Good Luck
