Default Odd question for type r owners...

I was thinking about buying a type r, but unfortunatly there are none around me to test drive / sit in. So before i continue with my type r obsession would someone tell me if i would fit in a type r ? Im 6'3" 220 lbs. I dont mind being cramped aslong as i can still use the pedals. I dont know how much of a comparision this is, but i fit into a 98 ish civic, and a 99 prelude, are type r's arround this size ?

I know its odd, but thanks for the input.

I don't think you would have a problem fitting on one. There is a guy I know around here that is a tall bastard (about 6'5") and he fits fine so I guess. I think the only problem you will have is finding one or someone that is ready to part with their ITR. Good Luck though!

I had a 98 Prelude, and I fit better in my R. But I am only 5' 10- 185lbs.

damn whiteboy...huhuhu...just playing dood.

You should fit right in since the integra is, i think, a little bit bigger than a civic and about the same size as a prelude. Now as far as your legs goes, you're gonna have to measure how long your legs are and I'll measure to see if you fit or not with the seat all the way back. Only thing i'm concerned with is helmet room for you.

remember guys, when the folks at Honda Built the Integra, they only had the general dimensions of an asian person in mind. That's why you here a lot of americans complaining that the seat is too small and etc...

You will fit into it.
however, comparing with EK and prelude, DC2 is smaller than both, and
it's about the same as an EG.

good luck.

I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs and I don't even put the seat back all of the way...You will have plenty of room, legs and headroom...

I'm 6' even, and head room is not a problem at all in the R, due to no sunroof.

What you might run into is having your knees hit the underside of the steering column/dash area. I don't have a problem with it, and I like to sit a bit close, but depending on how you prefer to hold your legs you might have to watch that.

Damn you guys are huge! I'm not a Japanese guy but I could be (5'5", 140lbs). That means I can drive my R quicker than you big fat Americans! Hai!

hehehh Ross:

That was exactly what I thought when I was at a recent autocross and a gentleman carrying around a good 100lbs more than me got out of an R.

But we get a different seat designed for FAT AMERICANS! JDM and Euro ITRs come with recaros that hold you in much better. My CRX seat holds me in better than the ITR seat.

I agree hehehe, Tegs were made for Asian's.
Anyways you dont need an ITR to find out if you can fit in one or not. Just find any dang old G3 Teg and see if you fit!!!

i believe there is another guy out there that is 6'7", but you might be the one i'm thinking of sp00n man. (:

helmet clearance is still an issue in my car,..i have to lean the chair back a little more than i'd like to clear the top nicely with a helmet on (i'm a shade under 6'6"...hence the name near my avatar )

anywho...i'll fit even better in sparco torinos on custom rails....someday..i love how i fit in those seats and on the rails that yeahbtecLS has...

i'm skinny though...around 200 lbs...

-k-b0t, who...yay!..has jury duty...

I am 6'2" and weigh 210. I have no problems fitting into the R. I am especially impressed with the headroom. Just my $.02

I'm about 6'3", 155 lbs (my martial art is lank-fu), and i have more space in my Type R than I did in my GS-R sedan...GS-R coupes are even more sparse on headroom, remember the Type R gives you more clearance without the moonroof, and with the slightly softer seat bottoms (to compensate for stiffer springing). My mom has a 98 Prelude, and i always feel cramped in that, my head brushes the roof...you should be fine.

I'm 6'2.5", 185, and in my GSR I have plenty of room. The Type R's have more headroom so you should be fine..

Here we go... 6'5", 210 with size 16 feet. And I fit fine. Seat is all the way back but fairly vertical. I have plenty of headroom, and just enough with a helmet on. The Type R has about an inch more room than the other Integras due to the lack of a sunroof.

All in all , you should fit fine.

I bought the ITR instead of the Civic SI because I don't fit in the SI. I'm about 6" 210 lbs. Appearenly Honda markets the SI for midgets. No offense to any midgets on the list
