Can someone explain to me, what preformance gain you will get out of a CF trunk?? Its like haveing CF mudflaps, and side mirrors...

 

Oh and its carbon fibre

To save another ~10 lbs, even more if you remove the torsion bars. It all ads up, and when you're competing every pound counts. Much like why do people buy a CF hood? To save another 15-20 lbs... Remove sound deadening ~20 lbs... Removing carpeting 10 lbs... etc, etc.

 

I can see a CF hood, but a trunk?? What does a trunk lid weigh, these days?

 

stock trunk lid on a 5th gen is aprox. 25lbs
c/f trunk lid is 15
