question about type-r's
It starts to engage @ 5700 rpm and kicks in fully at 6K, then G'bye.........................
You hear it at around 5700 to 5800 and feel it at 59 to 6K. What a cool sound Vtec is and especially if you have an aftermarket intake, or remove the resonator.

Ummm VTEC dosn't "start" to kick in at 5700 and "fully" kick in at 6000. It is like an on/off switch. Locks in big cam at 5700rpm. Not to be a dick, but that was inaccurate.
Your Not a Dick at all,
It does engage at 5700 RPM and you do hear it, but, I and most people I know feel it @ 6000 RPM!
No offense taken or given at all.
I know when i feel it and It is at around 5900 to 6000 RPM.
Any light you could shed on this subject could educate me and a whole lotta other R owners.
Thanks,
A.

BTW Eurodeseo when the Hell is your ride gonna be out of the shop? You gotta post pics of the end results. I saw a friends PY r after the body work and it was a good fit and finish but, the color Did NOT match.
If I was you I would have pushed for a Total loss. And you know what I went through. But, I hope it all works out for you cause I remember what it was like being R'less.
Good luck Bro,

The Type S also kicks in at 5.8K or 6K. The sound is not as nice as the Type R's I bet but it's pretty sweet. The power is there though. I got about 660 miles and started to really engage the high revs. Pretty happy about it. And comparing it to the GSR's: VTEC kick in the GSRs are stronger but Type S has better pull after the VTEC.

This plot may shed some light on why it's felt at 6,000 rpm. Power drops when VTEC engages. Existing forward momentum most likely prevents you from feeling the drop. Power then picks up to where it left off at 6,000 and at that point increases at a faster rate.
