Brakes! Rotors, pads, calipers, oh my!
I'm going to be changing the brakes in a month or two and I think I should start research soon.. so I've got a few questions for those who had done this before.
Pads
The little research I've done so far says that as far as pads go, Axxis Metal Masters are a pretty good bang for the buck brake pad. Thoughts? Several people have said to stay away from OEM..
Rotors
I haven't found that much info.. I read some posts on Crossdrilled vs Slotted, and I think I'm looking towards Crossdrilled. I don't want the Slotted rotors to eat my pads.. are crossdrilled rotors the best option? Are do you suggest something else? For the rotors, what are some good names? Some people swear by Brembo's... I have no personal experience with brakes. All help is appreciated..
Calipers
Do I need to worry about these? As long as the ones are working fine there's no need to replace them right?
And as long as I don't get anything 'oversized' or something that doesn't fit my application, the new pad and new rotor will both fit together with the caliper just fine, right?
Thanks for any help..

most of the guys on this board will say.. "brembo blanks and hawk/port. pads is all you need!"
i like my setup.. why look stock?
i have a powerslot slotted rotors, axxis metalmaster pads, and goodrich stainless steel brake lines. GET THE STAINLESS STEEL LINES NO MATTER WHAT. they offer the best upgrade for the price. i bought mine for $499 + shipping (~$30) from landspeedracing.com.

I don't really have the energy to install new SS lines. I heard it's a pain in the ***.. and doesn't really increase performance. It just makes the pedal feel a little stiffer..
Thoughts?
Thoughts?
i recommend SS lines for anyone. the brake pedel gives you much more feedback and braking is much more confident. you'll want to change your brake fluid after you get new rotors and pads so you might as well get new lines and bleed the brake system anyway.
i guess it all depends on how much ya want to spend.
