Default need ur opinion......What is the best D-series setup? (intake manifold, head, tranny, ecu, etc.)

I was wondering what everyone's opinions are on the best D-series motor setup.
Basically you can use any part from any d-series motor with a few exceptions. I was wondering what the best d-series setup would be....what head, what block, which intake manifold and ecu....etc. I was planning on swapping in a D16Z6 (sohc vtec) in place of my tired D15....but I've heard so much stuff as to which setups are better like the mini me swap.....and even then, isn't there many different kind of mini me setups? I've got about a grand to play with and all the installation will be done by me, two other guys, and a twelve pack.
And I don't wanna hear any BS about "dude, forget the d series and get a B16" cuz I've heard it many times.....I'm in favor of the D series because it's less work, a **** load less money, and with a few basic bolt ons, the D series is equal to if not better than the B16...IMO.
Your input is appreciated. Thx.

If I had the extra money/time, this what I would build

All motor:

D16Z6 with a Y8 intake mani. I would shave the head to net a 11:1 CR. Bored TB, action clutch with a 8-10lb flywheel.
ECU? I have no idea.

Throw on a cam + springs/retainers, and you have one wicked little machine (asuming the support equipment are included...CAI, header, exhaust..ect).

Cheep + reliable =

Please don't post this in multiple forums! You don't need an answer that badly!

WTF?

it's his choice what and where he makes a post. What problems does it cause by asking the same question in mutiple forums? Some people only look in one forum. By covering mutiple forums, he is getting a better chance for replys.

Well, as you can see by my signature, I'm trying my best with OEM D-series. These are my goals for some decent, long-lasting N/A power:

Port & Polish job on my current (Y8) head
A6 pistons installed on my Z6 block (11:1 CR - no head shaving!)
58mm-60mm TB (B-series)
Light port and polish job on my intake manifold (Y8)
ZC Tranny (maybe)
4-Wire O2 sensor conversion (slightly better readings than the current setup)

My ECU/fuel setup is already at its best: Chipped PM6 ECU coupled with a V-AFC, and an adjustable FPR w/guage for fine tuning.

What do you think?

Looks good!

I would definetly try and utilize a ZC tranny with that setup. no torque steer with the equal length axles, and lower gear ratios for nice acceleration.

That setup in a striped CRX with slicks has the potential to run 13's. (depending on elevation)

Yeah, unfortunately you and I live in the rockies... Stupid High altitude...

Right now my motor feels like a higher-revving A6 on steroids - but it's no B16.
