Finalizing B16 project, did I miss anything ?
Alright, Im about to get everything together for the swap. Im ordering the complete swap from hmotorsonline.com (they seem to be the best and a good price). I am also ordering the hasport linkage and hasport mounts. I know I still need to get a new throttle cable.
My questions are about the axels, will they be able to bolt right up, cause they are coming with the swap. Also will the stock exhaust bolt right up to the manifold that comes with the b16 ?
I am wanting to just buy an aftermarket exhaust, but i didnt know if a crx si exhaust would bolt up. I really want to get an N1.
Also Im thinking about going tubro later and not sure if here is a special manifold to buy, or if I should buy a 4-2-1 right now ?
Any advise would be cool. If you see anything Im missing please lemme know

Your gonna need a B series clutch cable before you drive it any where. Get it from a 90-93 integra. You will need 90-93 integra axles also. If the axles come with the swap they should work as long as you don't have an STD Civic, the hubs are smaller. The exhaust should blot right up with no problems. Worry about your swap 1st. Get it running right with no CEL codes. Then, in the future, worry about turbo and what not.

I'm sure he's ordering the complete swap from HMO which comes with a tranny. Also if you're going to retain your A/C, then you're going to need the A/C bracket from Hasport also. You can get it from HMO for a good price.
Here are thing you might consider getting before you put the swap in your car.
T-belt
Waterpump
Clutch

I will be ordering full swap. The other reason I wanted an exhaust is mine is all rusted out and leaks :D
Wont the HMO swap come with that clutch cable ?
Im definately going to do pump and timing belt, im more looking for things I might have missed actually hooking the swap up

I've never seen a swap come with the clutch cable. I have seen them cut off left in the tranny though. Just look for a 90-93 teg in a junk yard if you don't get it.
Anyone have a part number for that if I cant get it at a junk yard ?
It goes from the tranny to the linkage ?
cause Im buying shift linkage from hasport, is that the same thing ?

As for a part number, just ask for a 90-93 integra, any model, clutch cable. It hooks to the top of the clutch assembly then to the arm on the tranny.
The shift linkage is two metal bars, one is a stablizer and the other holds your shifter.

You will most likely want to replace the clutch or at least check it out..
Mine was shot..On the exhaust, they cut mine off with a torch before the flange connection so I had to weld another one on.
With a little engineering, you can probably use the a/c bracket that comes on the B16..
{ I did with a "Sanden" brand compressor}
Acura part numbers for the cables:
22910-SK7-AO2 clutch cable
17910-SK7-A03 throttle cable

i dont know what the above guy is talking about but if you have an hf or si then your factory clutch cable is fine, at least mine is and i havent had any problems
you can get the mounts and linkages through steve at honda motors online for probably cheaper than anybody else just ask him.
as far as the manifold, the manifold that came on my b16 wouldnt work it was 2 inches short and the collector was going the opposite direction, what i did for a temporary fix is used the b16a manifold from my 00 si.
axles, the axles i got from HMO were junk, solution - autozone has 90 integra axles for 110 bucks a peice, your bring them the old axles and they will give you back 50 for each.
last but not least, this is an important step that nobody told me and i will tell you to save some time, when your pulling the old motor out, go ahead and remove the radiator, fans and xmember, you need to break off the front mount bracket that is welded onto the crossmember,
i got my 90 throttle cable from a integra ls in a junkyard for 15 bucks.
check my sig for a pretty damm good swap guide along with a helms manual to help you through ur swap

I did not say you had to replace the clutch cable..Mine was bad
{the cable was shreading} so I replaced it with the integra cable.

1st off I do swaps. A D series cluctch cable will not work with a B series engine. If you made it work it must be one hell of a cob job. The B series tranny is bigger. There is a larger gap in the clutch arm than on a D series tranny.
slowpokesi, i was looking at your site in your sig. i love u ive spent multiple hours trying to figure out where the vacuum lines go, but i couldnt figure it out

I modded my clutch cable to fit, it took 3 minutes, and looks as stock as can be.
civickiller- look at my site under b16a swap, and look at my vacume diagram, its easy. Ryan

oh yeah, well i do swaps too, i dont know what the **** your smoking i didnt have to do any cob job or modify mine at all, all i did was hook it up, ive done 3 crx b series swaps and not one of them needed a new clutch cable.

yeah slowpokeski is right. i have done many of swaps into a lot of efs and i have never not been able to use the original clutch cable that came with the car
Thanks all for the information. Has anyone had the stock exhaust system mount up ok ?
Im hoping the axels they ship me are in decent shape, Id like to just throw them in.
Thanks for all the other additional info as well.
slowpokesi - thanks for the link, but I already had you bookmarked
Ive been reading your faq for the last while
also does anyone know if I can get an apexi n1 catback, or do I just need to buy the muffler and do a customer exhaust (not really wanting to do)
p.s. is there any way to remove the 5 post limit before the 30 days are over ? It might be hard to get an engine installed if I need help : /

you have to do a custom for the apexi,
i got a knock of one, the whole thing installed cost me 500 bucks, but i have bigger piping 2 1/2 inch and i need a new 2 1/2 inch cat and a flange made for my jdm itr header.
your stock exhaust probably wont hook up, mine didnt, the header was about 2 inches short, and the collector was opposite as the cat, you can goto a muffler shop and have an extension made for about 20 bucks though.

My header reached just fine, but the bolt holes were a quarter turn off. I just got a dc to solve the problem. Some of the time the manifolds are short like slowpokesi stated. Ryan
I dunno what you boys are talking about, the d series clutch cable works fine, ive done swaps in all trim lines. Right now im using my stock dx cable with a usdm s1 tranny, havent had a problem.
