Default Carbon FIber hood questions and requests.....

Hey guys, well I guess I bought a Carbon fiber hood the other day by chance I came across a great deal from Satan SRV so now I have a couple questions.. (i've searched already) Do i require hoodpins? Which pins look best if I do need them? And does anyone have some nice pics of cf hoods on a 4th gen? Thx guys for ur input... also what kinda weight reduction am I going to gain from this? Its a VIS hood. ( realize pics go in apperance but nobody posts there i've already checked)

you dont need hood pins. the hood looks alot 'cleaner' with out them. i have an OEM vis carbon viber on my ride w/o hoodpins.... it stays down fine. the pins are for 2 purposes. 1) looks 2) just in case your stock hood latch is defective.

You dont absolutely need them, but at higher speeds you will probably notice the hood kind of waving or moving. You can get hood pins or hood locks to prevent this.

My 5FT gen VIS hood weighs in at 21 lbs or so. All I can vouch for is that it knocked off a whole lot of weight from the stock hood.

I got oem style VIS grade A hood.
the latch looks strong but what if..

hood pins looks like **** imo, totally agree it looks cleaner without it but safety first. why fuxking risk your own safety, your ride and all the investment?

Vis strongly recommend the usage of hoodpins/lock/etc with their hood.
you also need to get the lining on the hood to eliminate air/dust getting under the hood.

what to see how it look with hood pins?

Just to back the other guys up I also have a VIS Invader with no hood pins and it stays down fine.Just remember to get the rubber strip off of your OEM hood and attach it to the CF hood so it will fit a bit more snug.
Before i had a no name CF hood and it did need hood pins but it looks so much cleaner without them.
