What are some good tires for the ITR?
I presume that stock ITR tires are differant and better than on other 'teg models, and I need new tires and I was wondering if I should just get new stock tires or something better? I live in British Columbia so it's known for raining (just like Seatle) and I don't plan on much if any snow driving, so what would be good to get..?
S03 , T1S will be good street tires..
or Azenis is good and cheap!!
i had T1s and FM901 both tires good to me so far even in the rain days too..

Since you'll be in the rain....
Bridgestone Potenza S-03's are awesome. They come in 195/50/15 and 205/50/15 if you are staying on stock rims/15" rims. Hard to beat the price of the 195/50 considering how great this tire is in the rain and dry. But if I had to do it again, I'd go 205/50, the 195/50 is too skinny and overreactive on the road for my tastes.
Kumko MX - GREAT price on 205/50/15's on http://www.tirerack.com/
I haven't used them, but supposedly they have awesome grip close to that (maybe just slightly less) of the Falken Azenis AND are great in the rain.
Yokohama ES100 - supposedly not quite as good as the Azenis or MX. Just search for a thread by Willard about these tires.
Falken Azenis - Cheap, awesome tire. They have amazing grip for a street tire. 205/50/15 is the only 15" size, and they are also VERY cheap. Tire rack doesn't have them, but many other places do sell them. Amazing performance/dollar ratio. They are ok in the rain, but nothing compared to the S-03's. Still, they are good as a 3-season tire as long as you don't use them in anything below 40 degrees and NO SNOW on these tires, not even to move the car in the driveway.
I use them as my track tires (they had about 15-20% of their traction already gone when i bought them...) and have 3 track events this year (288 track miles) plus 3000 highway/street miles (mostly highway) and still have considerable tread left, and they didn't chunk but a tiny bit on my last session on the 3rd track event, when i stayed out for about 45-50 minutes (gotta love the last hour of open track...). Can't beat them for the price.
The stock tires own, too. But, they are expensive and are not so great in the rain. Well, not good in standing water from my experience.
For just a serviceable street tire to get around, there are plenty of cheap options. Serviceable meaning lower performance than the Azenis, but better tread wear and better in all-season conditions.
