Default need idle help, searched 4 pages...

just finished searching through 4 pages and found out things I already know. I didn't see any posts that sound as bad as this, Any suggestions are welcome.
90 STD, D15B2 dp-fi, NO TACH

a few months ago the idle would just flucuate out of no where after driving it, it would come and go, never stay to long. Now just recently, as soon as you turn on the car the idle just revs up and down in warm up and when driving it. I'm guessing its prolly hitting about 3K sometimes. If I'm driving the rpms kinda "stick" and slowly come down when I come to a stop. Its to the point where I don't have to give any gas between shifts and it "drives it's self", I can just take my foot off the gas and stay at speed.
I checked out the TB, clean as a whistle
re set the ecu, nothing
looked in helms, did the procedure, nothing
***unplugged the EACV while car was running, no diff- I know this means something but I can't find out what!***
loosend the throttle cable, nothing
unplugged and capped the 'in' tube to the EACV, at first the prob stopped but then started again.

I have not adjusted the idle screw yet and have not messed w/the TB or intake manifold so right now I don't suspect bad gaskets. If I do need a new EACV I'll just do the mpfi swap sooner than I though. thanks

I had the same proble and it turned out to be the TPS. Honda wanted $400 for the complete TB and does not seel just the TPS. I just replaced it with one from the junk yard and all was fine. Good luck!

Sounds lik the IACV (EACV)... if you unplug it, it should sputter and idle really low. Pull it off, hook it up to the battery and see if the little cylinder inside moves back and forth. Also clean it with tbody cleaner and put it back on. It sounds like it's bad to me, though.

Now thats what I'm looking for, I'll test that out tonight.

But what does the low idle mean when its unplugged, every one says that but I haven't found what it means.
