Default b16a guys-what are you launching at with this set up...

i have only been in the honda game for l**** 18months and am building my 3rd ride.
1989 crx dx
b16a-12:1 cr
ctr cams and valvetrain-estimated 200whp
running lenso 13*8 with slicks
i am curious at what rpm to launch and do you guys just drop the clutch or feather it? the car will be done in like 2-3 weeks.

i had a 1991 se-r turbo for 2 years that i had built the ran 11.8's but tat car had very nice torque. i used to just feather the se-r off th line at like 3500rpm.

the hb in my sig ran 13.8-14.1 on gsr stocks with bfg's. if i tried to drop it @ like 5k and the car would buonce pretty bad-it didnt seem to be moving so i tried feathering it off the line and this worked well at like 3k but i had really high 60 foot-like 2.4

so any help will be appreciated-check out my old hb in the sig..

around 6 or 7 sounds about right. what is the slick size. my friend uses 20 inches and they work fine. he launches at 5 on 20 inch slicks. i personally think theyre too small. but what do i know

hey, why does the question have to say b16a "guys" how do you know that some girls aren't running b16's???

just messing. i'm running a similiar set up and launch at about 7500. but the car is bogging down off the line because there isn't enough torque to keeping the tires spinning. that's the one downfall to a b16. i would try launching at about 7000 and see how you do. you want a 60 foot of 1.9 or better.

good luck to you!

Correct ! Another "WOMAN" that understands the components of "HER" car.

The lack of torque is really going kill the launch is the track is prepped good.
If the valve train is done corrrectly you should beable to launch around 7500 to 8k

However, if you have a reprogrammed PR3 or PWO you may havea problem exceeding 7500RPMs. reason is that Honda installed a safety rev switch on the clutch pedal....... hope all goes well

On my buddies B16 with 190whp, he uses 20" slicks and launchs @ 7500 w/b16 J1 tranny (4.40 final). he nails 1.7 60's almost every run. Good luck.

we get 1.7's regularily from the honda's here at Mission BC. Very well prepped track and a 24 foot above sea level gets good horsepower!
