I got F*cked...valves...
The H23 head I bought from sik96prelude has bent valves...he must not have told me his timing belt broke, or maybe he forgot. Now Honda is charging me $250 to machine the valves. WTF? Why can't they just buy new ones? Anyways, I'm trying to find some new valves to have put into the h23 head while I can. I've tried Landspeedracing, mantaray, inlinefour, and planetperformance. None of these sites have valves for an H23. I'd appreciate any advice or opinions you have. Thanks
u can get them from honda.. i think ex are 12 and intake are 16... Carquest is cheaper.. same valve.. i got them in and it said honda of japan on the box i **** myself.. i saved alot of money to...
they still have to grind the valve seats so that a new (different) valve will seat right. that shoud run around 130.. thats what we do it for at the shop i used to work at. +parts.. get some new valve stem seals while your at it

I checked out carquest.com and I couldn't find valves for an H23 head. It only had drive train products...no valvetrain. I was wondering why they were charging 250....it's probably because they need to change the seats to fit my head. Thanks for the info.
yeah, you'll definitely want a machine shop to re-work the head for new valves. It'll get you new valve seals also.
That's the one thing i forgot to do on my last setup. Now my car smokes because of my valve seals.
on me

I think the total is close to $2000 for fixing a cracked head, coolant leak, blown head gasket, machine work, and DC CC 4-2-1(which I didn't mind).

I got a stock 95 stock H22, there was a compression test done and it came back 211, 211, 188,211. Now that may not be a heavily bent valve but.... I am gonna go get a leakdown test to see for sure. Now if I do need to replace my stock valves, how much would it cost, not for the valves itself, but everything else? I figure valves are 20 bucks each....but do I need to replace all four for that piston? and what is the labor like?
