Default j&s safeguard questions...

So I installed my J&S safeguard v2 but I can't register any knocking even when I set it to max sensitive. Having it set to max sensitive, should it retard knocking when revving it in neutral? Also what kind of volt does the knock sensor give out? Does it give out a signal even though the stock honda ecu doesn't do anything about it (as in the volt is so low that ecu does do it's own knock retarding...). FYI I drive a 99 base lude. Any help would be greatful!!!

At max sensitivity, you should definitely see some knock/retard activity if you rev the engine up in neutral. Another way to test it is to gently tap on the knock sensor with a screwdriver while someone watches the display.

make sure you don't have the TPS wire connected when your testing it, otherwise it will not activate unless you have 60-80% throttle, if I can remember correctly .

This is that I turned it max sensitive and took out on the highway to do some redlining and nothing... I guess I have a wire screwed up then heh. No one knows what the volt range is on the knock sensor?

Are you using the onboard LED for knock display or the round knock monitor? If you are using the round monitor, make sure the cable is connected between the J&S and the round monitor, as that's how the display gets its power. However, if you are using the onboard LED, there's possibility the LED is not working. This happened to me when I first received the J&S. It turns out the LED was installed backward! You can verify that by opening the case.

I have the dual monitor... I did the self power up test on the unit and everything seems to work fine. The led all light up how they are suppose to for the test so I figure they are in good working order and besides I tried to see if there was knock showing on the unit itself and the monitor....nothing! I was planning to take a volt meter and see if there is signal coming in from each wire to see which one is not connected... does that make sense?
