b16 wont start
i have a b16a in my 90 crx. Sometimes after driving ill shut the car off and then go to turn it back on after a few minutes and it will start for a second then idle down and shut off. Then it wont start for a good while, i either have to let it sit for a while or reset the ecu to get it to shut back on. i thought it might could be the fuel pump. anyone know whats up?
You might wanna check your fuel pump or your fuel filter. Just as a good measure check to see if you're getting spark in all of the cylinders too. Post what happens. Thanks
I'm having the same problem here as well, however it just started doing it, right after i changed my headgasket and installed a skunk2 intake manifold
I checked my ECU and I am getting codes 6, 15 and 22, But i think the reason i am getting the codes is because we started the car without connecting the ground from the valve cover to the chassis by accident
anyone have any ideas? I just replaced my igniter and coil when i did my swap about 3 months ago

hook up your coolant temp sensor(code 6) . It might not solve all your problems but it will make it easier to start up most of the time. (prior experience if you couln't tell.)

where is it located? and what does it look like?

the sensor is plugged in and secure, so i don;t think that could be the problem, however, when checking the plug, i noticed one of the bolts that hold my distributer together is missing, could that be why is does not start?
I've noticed that it doesn;t start usually when it is hot outside and if i have been driving it for an hour or so, if that makes any difference

Sounds like the fuel pump to me. I had massive problems with mine and that is exactly what it would do, not wanting to start in the heat. When it got cold it did not have a problem starting but once it got hot i wasn't goin anywhere.

listen for the click on the main relay. put it on the on switch..dont start your car..and if you hear the click, then ur main relay should be good still. fuel pump should be the same way. put on 'on switch' and listen to it.
alright i think it's my fuel pump, it would not start tonight and i decided to check a couple things, i could not check the main relay, however, i checked to see if there was at least a little fuel pressure by taking the gas cap off and there was none, not even a little, so i am guessing it is the fuel pump, when i first tried to start it, the car fired up then imediately stalled, i assume thats where all the fuel pressure went
how else can i check my fuel pump to see if it went bad?

well, it is definitly not the main relay, i tried swapping it with one out of my hatch and the car still has the same problem, however, even when the car does not start, i think i still hear the fuel pump, but i am not sure, it is a very faint sound
if it is not the fuel pump, what else could it be, i checked for spark and i am getting spark, and the weird thing is, when i had the plug out of cylinder 1 to check spark, the motor started
I am all out of ideas

fuel pumps are pretty cheap, get one, or borrow one, then try it.. if you cant do that, like someone said when you turn the key to on, listen for a semi-loud click, sounds like a blinker kinda. if you dont hear it, then most likely it is your fuel pump that is bad. happened to my bro's 4dr. got a new one, it was all good
to check your fuel pump....splice the wires that connect it and hook up your battery to it (only 2 wires one pos and one neg-black)...you should hear it whine....if you want you can also take off the fuel rail and see if theres any fuel shooting out....o yea and make sure you have gas
