What Valves to Use?
I am rebuilding a 94 GSR head to put on my 2001 GSR block. I have purchased GSR Crower Titanium retainers and Dual Valve Springs. I was wondering what valves to get. I was thinking of getting either Skunk 2 or Ferrea but wondered if any of you had any experiences with these valves or recommend another brand. And where you purchased them from?
Go with the skunk2, coated stainless steel. Have them for my car. Great quality and not that expensive.
I got lucky when I was rebuilding my engine, a vendor on groupbuycenter had an iventory clearence and sold them for $150. But like I said, got lucky.

typeR valve are fine.
there's been a few members on this board who have floated valves with the crower springs...they aren't liked too well. (not saying you'll have any trouble...just install them right!)
keep an eye on those retainers..they can tend to gall.
also, do yourself a favor now and buy the ITR LMA's...again, preventative measure to avoid cracked cams.

yes skunk makes a valve that is flat on the bottom which raises the comp a little bit, personally i have itr's, with full skunk valvetrain and stage 2 cams

They can if they don't have a hollowed bottom like OEM vlaves, therefore reducing combustion chamber size.
I guess this would make them heavier though
