im putting my oil pan back on and got a new gasket... my brother said i should use silicon on either side of the gasket... is this true? i have some liquid silicon laying around, would that work?

i am having the BOV flange welded to my CAI tomorrow (diy piping). Just wondering if 6061 aluminum alloy piping (injen cai) will be weldable to an aluminum greddy flange... im pretty sure it will cuz they are both alinum, but the alloy part kinda made me think..
