Im 16 and I just got into doing this track thing and Im loving it, problem is.. the car in my classes are beating me on the straight stretch, Im hitting about 150KMH and there hitting around 60-70...

I placed second out of 20 or so competators and Im trying to find out how I can put some extra HP to my car with out bumping up a tun of classes for doign a swap..

This is what I have..

B18 nonv-tec

AEM CAI
Tanabe Race Medallion Exhaust
MSD Wires
Bosche Plugs

thats about it for preformance mods..

I have a friend who can weld me up a Header and Test pipe for $400 bucks

what can I do to make up for the time Im losing on the first place car..

My lap time was 62.. his was 58, what should I do..

cams? header? test pipe? pulleys? what..

power isnt your answer. its suspension work and driver development.

Its not a bright idea to be juicing on the track, Im not a drag car dude. I would rathor do a turbo before I would juice it, knowing how bad a turbo is for a non-turbo stock car..

Anything else?

I was thinking of getting Gude cams, DC header and custom Test Pipe..

How about a lightweight flywheel? Headers too maybe, but from what I understand B18B motors respond very well to light flyweels. I'm planning on adding one to my LS eventually.

Yeah, Im planning on getting:

Bully Clutch and maybe a port job.. I have a set of Gude adjustable cams on there way and a custom header and test pipe..

but ****, I ran a 15.482 in the 1/4 mile at my local track, I think for having Intake, Exhaust, Plugs and Wires.. my car rips for an LS!

Tell us about your 'great' suspension setup.

What kind of tires are you using?

I guarantee that the money you spend on making big HP could have been better spent on schools and driving faster.

well sounds to me like your answering your own questions, you know what you can put on it, so go for it, if not FI then start with the engine build up

What are you aloud to do to stay in the same class? Cams and cam gears would be a good start. TB, IM, pistons, rods, clutch, flywheel. There are plenty of things to do to make your car faster.

IMO, it'll help if you swap out the Neuspeed race and KYB AGX for a better setup. Go with linear rate springs and a better shock. Also, you may want to try a different sway bar setup, as I believe the ST sway bars give you a good bit of push.

Edit - It will probably help if you go with something stickier like Azenis or better.

I tried Tein on Bilstein and it didnt hold up as well as the set up I have now.. and the sway kit has worked wonders so far, theres nothing wrong with that yet

I didnt ask peopel to say what I need to get rid of, my instructors were amazed how my car was breaking and handeling, I just want some extra Hp..

Headers before Cams?

Testpipe beefore both?

Wires and Cap before All?

what what what...

It felt like I was loosing a lot of high end power, like top 3rd to 4th I wasnt picking much speed up anymore, anything to change that..

Sorry I have tried H&R springs with Koni's and Bilstein.. and a set of Teins and they havent been as smooth and such less body roll as my set up as of now..

A higher (numerically) final drive will put you higher in the RPM band in all gears.

To be honest with you for a suspension setup you really havent even begun to explore options. H&R or Neuspeed 'race' springs just suck. They're fixed height and fixed rate (cant swap them out easily for higher/lower rates).

I dont know which Tein setup you tried but chances are the spring rates were way too soft.

You should look into a Buddy Club setup - several Honda-Challenge racers on the east coast are using them and really like it. Last year's H1 champ had it on his car. Either that or a JIC race setup, or Zeal Function S6. All of these "JDM" setups will come with the ability to handle very high rates and will have independent height/preload adjustments, as well as massive piston rods that will be more predictable on track.

That said... bang for the buck is going to be a JDM ITR 4-1 header, a test pipe and dump the exhaust and use a 2.5" straight peice of pipe with a resonator and a turn down under the car behind the driver. Hondata system and a FPR with some dyno time will also net you some gains.

Cold air intake
header [better flow for low to mid]
high flow cat and catback exhaust. [if u do not have]
cams + springs and retainers.
perhaps some port and polish.
since your doing AutoX'n, probably you won't even touch your high end and top speed. In that case, perhaps a itr+lsd tranny. If you even want a better acceleration then grab a JDM final drive 4.785. Gives your more torque and faster acceleration.
