Dude, buy the foaming gunk. It is AWESOME. I've used simple green and gunk and gunk just owns. So easy to use and works flawlessly.
when i did my engine bay i used Gunk and the tire foam stuff. did a good job but didn't have that much grease to begin with. Plus crappy corona water left spots all over the place
A couple friends have used Simple Green and said it works great.
Remember what i told you last night...cover your alarm horn!!
cuz you might not luck out like me.

my dad used an engine cleaner on my moms teg after we had it for a few years, and it discolored the black plastic to a greenish/tanish color....so be careful if you use something new and try the crap on a small area first.

My engine bay was hella hella dirty, and that is y i started this thread... and i chose to go with the heavy duty Gunk spray(cuz there were two gunks there).
Result: ok, but i didnt have a brush so it was all just the gunk and the hose that werked on cleanin the engine bay. But i am gonna give it another go maybe tomorrow when i wash my car.
One thing i'm dissappointed about is that it couldnt take out the stain on my valve cover that looks like an oil stain... but can't be sure. Anybody have a suggestion to get rid of that?
DC2Slow: haha i was wondering what ur new name was hahahaha... Silverb18c1 jus told me.

sup eric.. as for the stains on your valve cover I dont know exactly what you are talking about. did you let that gunk stuff soak in for a while? try scrubbing at it with something. also try using hot bucket of water.. maybe that will work.
just in case if anyone wants to clean their engine bay

My Gunk process:
Spray off engine with hose ..
Spray Gunk on dirty spots..
Let sit for 10 minutes..
Spray the rest of the Gunk..
Wait another 10 minutes..
Take a brush and clean off the valve cover
Spray the engine bay with the hose to clean it off
Take a clean damp cloth and clean the existing overspray off..
Let sit for a while.. then get out some macguires detail and give it a little polish and dry..
