Default Is this true about the ITR (First I have heard of this)

I read this in another forum

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The 2000 has the same as the 98, the 2001 the ITR cams have 3 degrees more intake duration. But, the 2001 ITR cams are usually much more expensive than the 2000 cams, and the gains are nominal.

The '00-'01 ITR intake cam is similar to the CTR intake cam.
Like everyone else says, basically 3 degrees more duration than the '97-'98 ITR intake cam.

joke??? I am merely inquiring if a difference in CAM design exists between ITR model year 2000 and 2001. I fully realize a difference in design is present with 97 and 98 models.

I guess the joke is on me -

I will rephrase . . .

2000 and 2001 are the same and had the changed intake cam. They have 3 more degrees of duration than the 97/98 Intake cam.

Used in a sentence. "I have the 00/01 Intake cam in my 98 R" (Which I actually do).

Intake cams:
'97-98 are the same.
'00-'01 are the same, 3 degrees more duration than '97-'97.

'00-'01 = CTR cam (in this case I am defining '=' to mean 'almost identical')

97 and 98's are the same.

00 and 01's have 3 degree's longer duration on the Vtec lobe, That's it. USDM ITR cams are cheaper in my experience than CTR cams so it's more cost conscious to get the 00-01 ITR cams.

It's funny because we thought we already covered that, then you ask it again.

Yes, but I think what RaVAGE00 is trying to ask is whether 2000 AND 2001 INTAKE cams are the SAME.

Interesting, it seems that the 2000 EuroITR also has this 14111-P73-J01 intake camshaft.
The 1998/1999 Euro ITR has the 14111-P73-J00

1997-1999 ITR = intake cam lift 11.5 duration 240
exhaust cam lift 10.5 duration 235

2000-2001 ITR and CTR = intake cam lift 11.5 duration 243
exhaust cam lift 10.5 duration 235

There's no reason to pay more for the 00-01 CTR cams over the 00-01 ITR cams or vice versa, their the same thing.
