S2000 for M3 (56K mig
After much debate the S2000 was let go in favor of an M3.
Both are well maintained 2001's
Three days later I am not regreting our (my wife and I) decision.
Comments, questions?

are you happier with the M3? i know it has more facotry hp, but its also heavier. do you know what the weight difference is? those have been 2 of my favorite cars for a while. just curious which one you are happier with.
i think that if i were in the same situation, i would be swayed towards the M3 as well. Of course, nothing beats top down driving (CBRF4i did for a while, actually), but M3 power... nice nice nice
Like the above post stated... what was the price diff. if you don't mind me asking. If they were relatively close, i think i'd be hard pressed not to sell the S.

NoCarBoy - The M3 is faster, but not as "raw" as the S2000. The M3 suspension setup mutes a lot of the road that the S2000 lets you feel, the seat position of the M3 is much higher in the car than the S2000.
ScaleExtric - the M3 is a 2001 with 25K miles - cold weather, premium, HID, back up sensors, new tires, the seats with heat, 8 way, lumbar and side bolster adjust, and HK stereo upgrade - the price was inline with market value
silverbullet02 - yup, no doubt that there will be sunny days when I'll miss the S2000 though.
All in all I think its unfair to compare the two cars.
As a road going all out fun factor, the S2000 wins.
As a road going all out comfort factor, the M3 wins.
Both are fun, both are fast, but both are very, very different.
The thing that I notice the most about the M3: the speedo tells you 90, it feels like 60.

i don't see a price, assumptions were welcome. but i must assume it was a trade-off. that's my assumption.
so go ahead and backlash me, it's just more fun for me.

I went from a 2001 BMW 325I to a 2000 Accord Coupe...The Bimmer was great but parts just cost too damn much. But i guess if you can afford the M3 parts money probably isnt a problem. All i know is i wont be going back German anytime soon. But good luck with you new ride...nice color btw

Yikes...
I would never make that trade, unless I was looking for comfort and 4 seats.
S2K is a RWD ITR.
M3 is an overweight perversion of its original philosophy. I rode in one around the track, and it requires throttle-induced oversteer just to get it pointed in the right direction.
But if you're not looking for driving involvement, and like spending more money...
EDIT - paddle shifters are for people who are too lazy to heel/toe.
