How old were you when you started?
Hey guys, Im just turned 19, and im really considering getting my bike learners licence and learing to ride. I havent been on the bike of a bike since i was about 13 (neighbour used to take me on his honda goldwing)
Im a smart kid who "probley" wont be a jackass on it, but im kinda worried with the area where i live i almost get backed into or hit daily driving my crx. And it seems the people who live near me just suck at driving period.
So im poundering the idea of getting my learners, and just wondering when did you guys start ridding?

i guess i'm the anomoly...i started when i was 26. it's a great rush, and with my age, and driving record, insurance was very affordable. it's definitely a hobby that is not for everyone, but it is a lot of fun.

I have been riding motorcycles since age 11. I got my first street bike last year when I was 19. I love it so much. Nothing can compare to sunny day when its just you, the bike, and whatever is ahead of you. I guess you could say that riding calms my soul. It's priceless you might say.

whats an MSF? sorry for the noob question, but i'm new to bikes. i'm also thinking about maybe picking up a beater bike to learn on, and then getting a better bike. do you have any suggestions on good starter bikes?

Been riding since I was wee tike... But I got my first street bike when I was 18... a Kawasaki Z1-R, 1000cc badass from 1980. BRand new off the showroom floor, Sucker weight close to 600 LBS wet... I must have been 140lbs soaking wet. Dropped it the first day, and it took me and two friends to get it back up. But now I have been Legal street riding for over 23 years, and I keep getting faster ^_^

1st rode when i was 17, rode around the neighborhood 1st day (80 cc enduro), rode over state lines the next (honda 400cc something), and wrecked bad on the 3rd day (honda).
6 years later took MSF and started over. 5000miles later... only close calls to speak of.

15 min. ago pulling into work some ****** ran a red light as i was making a left turn in front of him. i would have been dead if that suburban got a piece of me.

dunno how old... i was well under 16. I remember i put my first sportbike together when i was 16 (1990 zx6

Hey man im 20 years old. i bought a bike before i even knew where the throttle was. i got it about a month ago. only dropped it once. not too much damage, just a little scratch. im getting really good and just waiting to take my msf. you will get the hang of it, i did. its just like riding a bike and driving a car all in one. once you hop on you will never want to get off. trust me. have fun buddy. i do!

I want to start riding before the end of summer if funds permit. I dont think I am going to take the MSF course. My friend took it and he said he'll teach me everything they teach in the course. I want to pick up a NSR250 or a RGV250.
