Default Q's about CDM ITRs.

I am wondering which years correspond with which options.

As in, which years got red or black interiors, which years got yellow paint, which years got the USDM '00-01 intake cam, etc.

I am thinking about another ITR after #1013 goes back to American Honda Finance corp., and I'd really like a newish CW CDM ITR with black interior and the more aggressive intake cam.

I also want to know what's involved in importing a CDM car, besides contacting a lwayer. And where do you find a lawyer that can do this kind of stuff? Help me join Team CW

2001 = Red seats
1999 = PY

(I'm pretty sure it's 99 )

Don't all Canadian ITR's have red interior? Regardless, it is apparently not horribly difficult to import a car from Canada, I know a least a couple of people on here have done it. You will automatically loose any warranty that you otherwise would have had, though.

Michael, if there was any way the prices could be comparable, I would do it.

I would love to have it, though. Someone like Sakai or ******* could do wonders with it.

Anyone know for sure about the warranty being voided? I really don't want a black ITR.

Looks like '00 is the best option so far.

Hm... Almost....

97-99 = CW + black interior
00 = PY + black interior
01 = CW + red interior

As for cam, I believe all USDM and CDM have a slightly more aggressive cam in year 00-01 (CTR cam).

BTW, I am a Canadian.

Definately get a 2000 since you want the agressive intake cam and the black interior.

Please double-check your info. I live in Canada and I am pretty sure that CW was avail in 2000.

Unfortunately it is not possible to get a stock CDM with all of the above. As I mentioned before, you can only have any 2 out of 3 items you want in any given model year.

If I am you, I will get 01 ITR. First it is newer. It is very expensive to repaint the car if you choose 00 ITR. Just sell / swap the red CDM seats / seat covers if you really can't live with the red seats, as there are quite a few people in the US wants them.

Just my $0.02.

Really??? That's very interesting.
There is definitely no 00 CW CDM ITR in Toronto. That's why I didn't get my R in 00 (yellow is just too much attention imho). I think some Toronto guys can back me up.

Are you sure? I am positive that 00 are all PY.

Also....

Shift **** is black leather with red stitching.
A/C was NOT an option in 01 at my dealership.
We have daytime running lights.
Shift boot is still black with black stitching. I get asked that alot.

2000 CDM CW ITRS:

CTR cam, no A/C, black leather shift ****, No Faux Carbon Fiber Dash Console Trim, Black Interior, Slightly different gauge cluster than USDM, Day time lamps.

I imported a 2000 CW CDM R last October.

LOL, this is assuming that they will take that hunk of junk back at the end of the lease.

Buy a 98 ITR and swap in a CTR intake cam, if you're that worried about it. That's a lot cheaper, and you'll have black seats.

Wouldn't a CTR cam in an ITR stock make it an ITR cam?

Also note the CTR cam and the more agressive ITR intake cam are not identical but the difference is considered negligible.

This is true. I recently moved to Pittsburgh and brough my SiR with me. You have to get a letter from Honda stating (aw crap I can't remember what it's for, but basically it means it's okay for import into the states without any major changes to the car). In this letter they also state that warranty is voided from the import. Lucky I had my tranny work done before I left.

Just curious: if you are planning to seriously modify it, why worry about the stock cams?

It just depends on the situation, and the $$. If I could have Mike's car for something close to affordable, I would do it. I told him via PM that there's probably close to 240whp in it.

But, I'd be perfectly happy to buy a stock one, and leave it that way but for a JDM FD, some wide wheels and sticky tires, and a rollbar.

If I buy a USDM 98 and swap in a ctr cam, that begs the question of "since I'm opening up the engine to begin with, why not put in something more aggressive?" I don't want to build a monster. I'd buy Mike's if it can work, but I won't build one myself.

When you say red seats? You dont mean Recaro's do you? I have not seen any CDM R's with Recaros.
