will a 70mm throttle body go on a S2 IM w/o porting it.
yes you have to port it but as far as it being too big, probably too big on a mild n/a but a nasty *** n/a car it would prolly be nice, i have a 68-66 ericks tb and s2 mani for my 12-1cr and skunk stage 2 2.0 ls/vtec n/a car
yes- what dafelung said--- unless it tranitions down to 65mm- or whatever the diameter of the S2 IM is, I do not see any benefits of the 70mm TB, as well as possible adverse affects.

Completely agree.
Unless, you're running a 10sec all-motor setup(even that's pushing it). Bigger is not always better.

if you can get a good taper on a bigger throttle body, then it would be okay. but 70mm is still too big.

i'm sure that's more aggressive than i'll ever run, that probably has an 86 or 87mm bottom end, drag cams/ drag set up. one day i want to do 84mm with some good cams like toda specB or something, but untill then i've got a B18c1 with S2 IM, ITR CAI, JDM DC Header and an ITR intake cam. now i wanted to do a throttle body mainly because of using the ITR throttle stay position and cable and the GSR pully on the throttle body dosen't match up very well. i know i don't want to spend spoon or JDM ITR throttle body money unless nessicary, will any one recommend a good match for this kind of set up? brand, size etc... also MikeMAN, you mentioned "tapered" whats that?? i mean, i now what tapered means.. just not how/ why with throttle bodies...sorry about being a newbie in this particular area...
tapered starts off at stock size in the middle, then comes out to its' limits at the edge, so it funnels the air in, and most cases you dont need a new throttle plate.
buy a 66mm one from BBK if they sell that size. if not ericks racing.

bbks just plain suck imho...id get you original one bored out which isnt all that expensive bout 150 bucks...or go w/ a jg 65mm one...ericks racing makes some really nice ones if you got the $$$...but 70mm is hella big for a n/a setup
