Hopefully someone can help me out here.

Basically the ECU won't fit under the corner kicker panel with the huge harness I want to put on it. I'd like to lay the ECU flat against the angled foot area instead. In doing this however, the wires and ECU are now "exposed" unless I can find some way to cover them.

I'm looking for suggestions on doing this. Would fiberglass work best, or just lay a little padding on there and put the carpeting back on top? What do you think, thanks!

 

Well, truthfully I donno if I'd just trust padding and carpet. When you have passengers, and they have wet feet, there is a possibility of getting your wires/ecm wet etc. which will lead to corrosion and nastiness. I suggest that fiberglas idea. that's pretty cool. jsut take a mold of your current piece and make it a bit deeper.

I'm not sure if the wires will reach, but how about mounting in the glovebox?

 

use sheet metal instead. i'd be afraid of someone accidentally kicking a hole in the fiberglass.

 

hmm sheet metal might work.

I've got some aluminum flashing from Home Depot...I was going to try and bend it but dismissed the idea.

I'll look into it again.
